I was a young teen. Recorded this on a vhs tape I still have in a box somewhere. I remember watching this a lot. I have the same thoughts now as I did back then. They are all beautiful, dressed sexy yet classy and sound amazing. This song is great.

I HATE that Linnie, Lalisha, and Akissa aren't singing the background harmonies without the backing track. I hate that anytime they performed this song back then that they kept 112's backgrounds in there as well. This is probably the BEST vocal that Alia has given on this song and I would have loved to hear fully live backgrounds.

I NEVER knew they performed this on Apollo 😳!! What other song 🎵 did they perform on here --- "Head Over Heels 👠 " or "Last Chance"?? I saw them perform at my grad 👨🏾‍🎓 night @ Disney World in '98 & they sounded BETTER than the record 📀 on each song!! They started off backstage singing SWV's "Anything" & you would've sworn it was SWV 😳!! I actually got scared 4 a moment cuz I thought they had replaced Allure with SWV & didn't tell nobody. If they could sound identical to SWV --- then they could certainly make their backgrounds sound like Mariah when they sang live. And Linnie (the 1 who sings lead on "Last Chance" & starts out 1st with the leads on "Head Over Heels 👠 ") actually has some of Mariah's tone on her soft, high notes 🎵. Now whether that's from growing up listening to Mariah or the 2 of them just naturally having similar tones, it's clear that she's the 1 you hear @ the top of the harmonies singing the notes 🎵 that everyone most easily identifies as Mariah's notes as well as the low notes Akissa (the light-skin Hispanic girl) sings, cuz as we all know, Mariah is just as (or should be) famous for her low notes as, well as her high notes. Check out her performance of Stevie Wonder's "You & I" on his BET Honors tribute YEARS ago. But Allure's live background vocals sounded just like they did on the recording --- whether Mariah originally did them or Allure did. Akissa even responded to me years ago in the comment section of 1 of their videos. She was real cool 😎 👌🏾!!

And even then, Taj only got the bridge of "Use Your Heart," the backgrounds to the bridge of "You're the One," & only led most of "ALL Bout You." And poor Lee Lee only got about 2 sentences for the bridge of "All About You" & she had the entire leads for "Don't Waste Your Time" which was the last song on the "New Beginning" album which they never intended to be a single. Such a shame. They had great voices & were constantly played 2nd to Coko.

This version of LisaLisa's iconic song comes across as incomplete for there is so much missing without the guy portion of the story in this song. The vocals of the lead singer along with the backup performers are good. However, that is where it ends. I will always listen to LisaLisa's version over Allure's for it tells a complete story that explains the full story for the heartbreak.
