@jaiden123WET no they're both the same height and Allure is 5 mm longer but Oasis is heavier, anyway the tide was lower when Allure crossed that's why she had 2 meters to spare, but when Oasis crossed the tide was high also it was night making the clearance even less.

I wonder what damages are happening to the bridge by huge wake. Surely those washing out effects weren't used during the design of the bridge because such a ship wasn't being sailed or even thought about driving under the bridge.. hopefully its not eroding the area around the pileons.

The wind would cause similar waves. The bridge should be designed to account for this

The worst erosion would be from the tides, this was taken into account in the design of the tower footings. I worked for four years on the rail tunnels that runs parallel with the bridge and watched the bridge and viaduct works from afar.

@henrooo it was about 2 metres 65. whereas oasis had 56 cm, oasis is higher up by about 10 cm and allure is longer by 5 milimetres :)
