Great video! Totally agree with you that some of who won was a head scratcher for me too. My mom actually works for Allure so I know from her that not only do brands have to pay to submit each product for a category, but they have to pay for each category that they submit to. So sometimes brands will choose one category over another one just because they think they’ll have a better chance of winning and they don’t want to pay for multiple entry fees. And a brand can use the Allure seal for up to 3 years; so if they recently won they probably won’t submit again the following year since they don’t need to and again to save the money.

Great video topic. I think it's pretty widely known that brands pay for inclusion etc. I also think people forget that the magazine world of beauty is very different to the YT/TikTok/influencer world of beauty, where there can sometimes be an almost over obsession with 'new/different/on trend'. I think sometimes people who watch beauty content forget that there's a huge section of the market that wears and buys trusted products and brands that YT etc often claim to be boring or 'over', and thats why those brands aren't over and doing really well! There's probably some specific examples too like Olaplex wanting to boost their image and sales after the bad press they've had recently, and I doubt Allure would award Batiste an award after their product recall. $/£29 is definitely a splurge for a mascara for lots of people, especially in this economy!

Never even heard of the Tart toner, and I watch a lot of these videos. 🤷‍♀️ And the best natural deodorant should've went to Thai crystal deodorant. That stuff is awesome! Or any crystal mineral deodorant I've tried! And I used to get a prescription deodorant from my doctor! 🤯
