If you wanna hide the stuff under your bed, you can buy a valance/bed skirt. Bonus is that they can be ruffled and super cute, or a cool colour so you can add some extra personality to your bed. Also, keep in mind if you put books on a window-sill then the sun will yellow the pages over time.

I had a few recommendations, but i saw another already suggested 2/3 that i had. The one thing that i got left is for your cables. Your tray is awesome but if you want it to be/look less tangled, then get some velcro. I would get it at an RC hobby shop and get velcro straps that are meant for strapping down small helicopter/ airplane batteries. They kinda work like temporary zip ties. One strap per cable and it can just live on the cable even while in use. You could just get a roll of double sided velcro at a sewing store, but it's a lot thicker and might end up being more trouble than it is helpful.

I have lived on my own for 23 years all my furniture is multifunctional with the exception of my couch.I have no storage under my desk either I use a small rollaway cart which set all my supplies for my" office" and school. I also have my bookcase right up against my desk which also gives me storage. The last two shelves of the bookcase do have books on it. But everything in my apartment has storage and that's the best way to do a room as well I find anyway. I have 17 tote boxes for my whole apartment I've had the same number for 23 years. I've also done the baskets and bins thing for more than 23 years due to my balance and space. I move every year/ year and a half due to circumstance beyond my control. I've never had a problem fitting things in any place. I was really close to my meme (Grandma) as well I have an afghan that she made for our living room sofa when we bought our house when I was 10 and I now have it on my sofa.

I don’t know if anyone said this but that table you were looking at in goodwill was a sewing machine table. You’re supposed to be able to lift the top latch and pull up the machine. Once you’re done you close it back up to make space. My mom has one very similar to it. Unfortunately the antique sewing machine that came with didn’t work. 😊
