Nice review. I recently started got one of these new, but less than half price, it’s a lot of fun, and one of the best sequencers on an acid-machine. It’s not really a true 303, but it does most of what a 303 can do, and for a novice it’s easy to use. I have the Roland T-8 too, that’s a really great acid-machine as well, more true to the 303, and a bit of a groove box, but again easy to use and lots of fun.

With regards to playing the sequencer 2x slower, I had this problem when syncing with other gear, it was really annoying, and I wasted a couple of hours trying to solve it. The default PPQ rate for the Volcas is twice as fast as most other gear. Whilst powering up hold Function, then press 8, this will toggle the PPQ rate and you can half the default speed, press Record to select the rate. Apparently you can change this on any Volca released since the Modular?

thanks for letting me know, I have the sq-1 and it's something similar indeed, thanks for the tips !

I just bought one of these. I can't seem to get a handle on how to dial in notes. Since the keyboard is chromatic, and the oscillator pitch knob throws it all out of tune. Maybe I'm missing something, but it would be nice if you could lock it to specific notes. I'm forced to use a tuner in my DAW to detect what notes they are.
@audioreakt4 жыл бұрын
what you wanna do ? play in a scale ? Play with an external keyboard ? If you tune one of the note, with the tuner, the other one should follow
@michaelrowe51183 жыл бұрын
@@audioreakt Thanks for the reply. Yes, makes sense - tuning in a key and the rest follow. I use gtune in my DAW, but what if you didn't have a DAW or any other external tuning device? Tune by ear? Seems strange for a piece of advanced electronics, but I'm also new to synthesis.

- Sory for my english - Hi, I have a problem with sync MIDI of my Nubass and Behringer RD6. I change settings 2PPQ to IPPS (because default clock are not tehe same). It's OK with "Sync patch cable" but if I use MIDI cable, clock is not OK. Have you got an idea ? Thx.
@audioreakt4 жыл бұрын
Hard to say without trying and even knowing the rd6, but you should set one in master and the other in slave, the nubass don't have midi out so aybe this one in slave and the rd6 in master clock

I didn't quite understand what the transpose does on this synth. Does it simply move the whole sequence to the key you press? I hope so, but it didn't sound like it when you were using it. Is it just for octave transpose per note, or can you transpose the whole sequence to whatever note you press? Or both?
@audioreakt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mitch, the transpose allow you to transpose single note one or two octave upper, which is pretty handu for acid line. I don't think you can transpose the whole sequence like to a particular note

Double click on the alp file it should open a window in Ableton asking you where you want to extract the files. Select the destination folder of your choice. Once the extraction is finished, go in that folder and double click on the als file.
