You are wrong on a lot of FACTS. First off the Honey Bee sucks at this job and Blue Orchard Bees are way more affective. Honey Bees ARE NOT NATIVE to North America Blue Orchard Bees are. In February, when California's almond trees are in bloom, BOBs will venture out to collect pollen in days that barely reach the 50 degree mark, while honeybees are more apt to avoid such temperatures. Because honeybees attach pollen to their back legs, they tend to spread less of it than BOBs, which collect it on their furry bodies. It only takes 400 female BOBs to replace the pollination efforts of 15,000 honeybees. You still got a lot of learning to go. Also 9 out of 10 bees do not go to CA to pollenate these trees, you would have to be insane to even think such a thing.....come on and actually use your brain for 1 second.

Hi Nicola. As usual very interesting. Let me tell you something. I grew up in a town in Iran mown for it’s almond and lived in a house with a acre of land growing almond. There was not single honey bee or honey producing industries in and around our town but the almond was growing year after the year in tune

You have not mentioned that promoting Apis mellifera let no more place to other bees species who are declining.

Loss of plant diversity and habitat are the biggest causes of decline to native bee species. The apis mellifera isn't out foraging in our gardens and forests -- they're working the farms. It's not a competition issue. The biggest thing we all can do to help our native bees (and other pollinators) is to grow less lawn (a useless crop) and more native plants.

"Variation of Small and Large Wild Bee Communities Under Honeybee Pressure in Highly Diverse Natural Habitats" (Demeter et al. 2021) (I'm aware of the impact of mowing and lawn so I do not mow and try to create a riche variety of plants with an edible forest. With plants (even fruits trees) from seeds.)

Great for the bees. Great for the growers. Great for the Chinese, who import ~80% of California's almond crop. Not so great for California's water supply. The almond crops uses ~10% of the state's water. About the same as all of the state's cities, combined.

You should watch the Mythbusters episode where they irradiate various insects in a power particle accelerator. There isn't any residual radiation or harmful biproducts. The crew were able to enter the radiation chamber and touch their samples immediately after they were exposed to enough radiation to kill a human almost instantly.

And you may actually retain more nutrients by microwaving food than boiling/steaming since nothing water-soluble will dissolve into the cooking liquids and be discarded.

Not sure if almonds are killing bees - some how I doubt it. The almond industry needs Govt. support as a critical Milk and food source. If you are in the industry you know all of the risks involved and the we get folks with water and environmental concerns that saying this or that is not right - one at a time please.
