Another great video, Greg! I was fishing on my birthday last year and the bass started schooling around me. I grabbed a rod and pulled out a plopper, cut the other bait off and tied on the plopper - but never fished the knot because I got distracted trying to catch up with the school, turned the rod around and cast the bait off. Watched a fish eat it. Reeled in, tied on the crank bait I had on before, cast it out and caught a nice fish and the school left. I was moving to a new spot and saw the school start up again. I headed over and found my plopper on the way - never caught up to that school again.

My most bone headed move was after a tournament one time I leaned 4 of my St Croix rods against the tailgate of my truck, then spaced they were there and backed my truck and trailer down to load my kayak. As I was loading everything up I realized I was missing 4 rods. At that moment my heart sank. I remembered I had leaned them against the back of my truck. I was sure I ran them over. 4 high end St Croix rods destroyed. I was sick! I ran up to where I was parked to find all 4 rods unscathed. They fell perfectly backwards and my truck straddled them. I have no clue how they didn’t fall to the side and get destroyed, but I was thanking my luck stars. Never a good feeling making a bonehead move, but I’m sure most have at some point if they have been fishing long. Love your content! Look forward to each new release. Thanks for sharing with all of us your ups and downs.

I hear yah on left and lost gear. Earlier this year my eight year old wanted to get her own tackle box and gear. After trip number two she lost her pliers and unfortunately we fished three lakes that day went back to all and they were gone ☹️. Then a few days later my fish grabbers fell out of my pocket while unhooking a fish and didn’t realize they were gone until I hooked a pike and needed them. Good and bad I lost the pike but walked about a half mile back and found them. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. I always like to think someone that needed it found it and it makes me feel better about it. Thanks for sharing such real and entertaining videos!

Greg, best of luck in Texas! It's a pleasure watching your videos while having my morning coffee. We just had a tournament on the Delta on June 12 -- it was tough! Here are my bonehead moments: (1) forgetting my buggywhips at a friend's house and having to borrow a baitcaster for the day. I was trying not to backlash during crucial moments - hah! (2) Falling into Berryessa in November. I had just parked the trailer and didn't want to keep my husband waiting since the other anglers had already blasted off. Instead of waiting for the Ranger to come alongside horizontally to the dock, I put my boot on the bow. I instantly went into the water, but my right hand grabbed the trolling motor. I edged my way to the back of the boat since we have a ladder. HOWEVER, the ladder is on the OTHER side of the engine - yikes! My husband eventually pulled my sopping butt out of the water and we fished the remainder of the tournament. I wasn't going to ruin his day by quitting and going home. In fact, he won Big Fish that day, plus we saved a mud hen that was tangled in fishing line. Cool :)

I’m a ‘KZbin educated’ kayak fisherman (second year of fishing ever) and theres always a lesson learned, thank you and glad it all worked out. Wow, happy you were able to obtain your belongings back. Similar case that happened with me was when I was kayak fishing as well. I was paddling just across the other side of the lake when I accidentally hit my $150 spinning set up out of the water. It sunk in 60 ft deep water. Never saw that combo again sadly. But I didn't let that stop me fishing that day. Thanks for all the content, I love it all!

Least see which of many bonehead things I have left behind sitting on the truck. #1. Drone. Got family on the boat and and decided to leave the drone case on the bed of the truck. #2 fish finder. Kayak fully loaded and lights connected, forgot the fish finder on the floor next to launch. Luckily realized 50ft from launch that it wasn’t there. #3 not fish related. Left my Scotty Cameron putter on number 2, 5, and 15 all in one day after making triple bogies. Subconsciously I wanted to lose it since it didn’t work for me that day. Great video sir. I wish you look in the tournament can’t wait for the tournament video. Be safe.

My bone headed move. I went to visit my brother in Tennessee and we decide to rent a boat to go fishing on Kentucky Lake. Launch the boat and cruise several miles from the launch and all of a sudden start having troubles keeping the boat on plane. We're taking on water! We had to get the bilge going and beach the boat so we didn't sink it. Turns out we put the plug into the live well hole vs where the drain plug should've been! Never caught a darn fish that day either haha! Good times and memories.

I think i’ve left nets & go pro’s behind. The worst leave behind was taking a group of Scouts on a rafting trip. I was taking care of loading up another trailer at the take-out. The Scouts told me all the rods had been loaded in the other trailer. Made the 4 hr drive home only to find out they had left 25 rods (all of which were mine) at the take-out. Thankfully a fabulous and honest shuttle driver had grabbed all of them & I was able to get them all back.

Would love to send you the pictures and videos of her she was super impressive. Love your videos and you’re definitely a huge inspiration for me kayak fishing as I just started fishing this year.
