Another great video! Your ground crew is efficient. They do their job as well as assist you. Your determination of which limb to cut in sequence reminds me of playing chess. Both you and your ground crew are a well synced machine and a pleasure to watch. Thank you!

its great watching how the whole tree is approached. Chunked down a 40ft spar today for the first time but your heights are scary.

I would think it would be a little unnerving when that tree does the shimmy shake. It's a long way to the ground. Good job Tall Guy.

Yea some of the trees are definitely a little weird to say the least

Good afternoon Big Guy, hope ur finger is doing better and u had a good weekend? Is there a reason for the different size of thumb nails or grooves u make in the trees n branches before u cut them? Keep hydrated up there. I don’t know what’s worse, humidity or heat. Good job n vid are educational as always. TC 😊

Yea it's slowly healing. Yes so the simple answer is that the depth and direction of the notch determines the direction that the brance swings

When you throw to a different tree what kind of anchor/base tie do you get your rope guy to do for you? I find myself in situations where i need to do it but like ive said before in one of your past videos i dont trust my ground folks.
@ReallyTallTreeGuyАй бұрын
So typically I just have them use the carabiner that I throw over to the other tree. They all know that the gate needs to be away from the tree. There were a few times they did it wrong and I showed them how it can easily open if it's the wrong way. If there is no carabiner then the back up climber just does a running blow line around the base of the tree. I've seen him tie them enough that I'm confident that he can and will tie them correctly.

The big thing I've found for getting ground guys to pay attention is to tell and show them what can go wrong and then tell them the consequences of that mistake. Not trying to lay into them, but just educate them as to what can happen if it's done incorrectly. I may make a short talking about how I like my ground guys to do it, but that'll be at least a month out.

How many trees would do you have to cut down a day?
@ReallyTallTreeGuyАй бұрын
Usually it's 2 or 3 trees if we are doing a number of small removals

The little holly shoot was interesting, I guess a bird ate a holly berry and pooped on that effect little bird perch. Even that it's just another act of Mother Nature!
