Let's Talk Religion's video: • Akbar: The Muslim Mona...
In January 1556, Shahanshah Humayun of the Mughal Empire fell from the stairs of his library and injured himself. He died of those injuries, a while later. With his death, the future of the Mughal Empire seemed dire. The empire had barely been in his control for six months. Before this, he had wrested it from the Afghan Suri dynasty after having spent some 15 years in exile. From the time of his father, Babur’s invasion of India in 1526, the empire had never truly seemed stable. There was always a rebellion, always a war. Now, after Humayun, his young son, Jalal ad-Din was put on the throne. Who could easily have become a puppet king, would eventually become the greatest ruler of India.

First of all Suleiman would not consider any European monarch is equal. In the Ottoman hierarchy of precedence the Ottoman Grand Vazir ranked equal to the Holy Roman Emperor. So you can imagine where they would have placed the Kings of France and Spain or England. While Elizabeth I did have correspondence with Sultana Kossem, never could it be construed by the Ottomans as a conversation of equals. In their scheme sovereignity rested with the Sultan alone and no non Muslim ruler could ever equal the Ottoman Badshah. That attitude would change and severely after Passarowitz and Kuchuk Karnadji. But in the 16th century, no chance.

Most of the Akbar's Administrative reforms were taken from Sher Shah Suri, Akbar's earlier Sultan of Delhi. Shershah also introduced Rupee in India( even now this the currency used in Indo Pak, Nepal, Sri lanka regions), most importantly he built Grand Trunk Road from Kabul to Bengal a Major revolution in trade routes. No doubt Akbar was great but Sher shah the Afghani ruler is so much underrated

The Mughal Empire under Akbar was the best governed state in Eurasia.Western Europe was ravaged by religious wars, while Ivan the Terrible became a paranoid tyrant. I would compare Suleiman the Magnificent with the previous generation of leading Eurasian monarchs. So in India Akbar's father and grandfather, Humayun and Babur, Persia Tahmasp I, China the Jiajing Emperor and Western Europe Charles V, Francis I and Henry VIII. I agree out of Suleiman's contemporary rulers he could be seen as the best, but as Suleiman died in 1566, when Akbar had only exercised real power for four years it makes more sense to compare Akbar with the significant Eurasian monarchs of the second half of 16C, and Suleiman with the significant monarchs of the first half of 16Ç.

Thanks Brother, you saved my time, as well as you wrote the main reason, these women were the reason who sent the men to war, if the men lost, the enemy army will take revenge from these women as the enemy army lost their people, took and arrest these women, beat and met these "Queens" the servant of their own princess or Queens to dishonour their reputation of being a Queen in past and as a result, these Queens have to serve to the Queens of winner army for all their life, this motivated the enemy's army's King and Queen both, Because they can also join the battle as "result of war" depends more on number of troops. But they have to touch enemy's men when they will be in war, so when they see that defeat is confirmed, They burn themselves, putting a basil leave in mouth and gangajal in hand. It needs courage, because " *death* *chose* *everyone* *But* *only* *some* *have* *courage* *to* *chose* *death* " Glory to the Sati of Rajput Family, we will be always be thankful to the *Rajputs* for their blood that flowed to the land, we will always be thankful to the Mothers who raiser Lions, Glory to them once again.

Akbar is certainly an interesting ruler. Especially in his tolerant and syncretic approach to religion. I think that one faith among the many of his empire that was not mentioned in the video (unless I missed it) was Sikhizm, the youngest one, which was founded shortly before his reign, was growing under it and seems to have some similarities to his own ideas, but was persecuted by his successors.
@resentfuldragon

he was an interesting ruler but his tolerance was to be expected. Any really devout muslim ruler by sharia had to respect other faiths and allow them their religions and temples. The sharia also says christians and jews are allowed to pray in mosques too, and muslims can pray in churches and synagogues without icons. The actual sharia when practiced leads to these kinds of rulers, we saw this with other rulers like salah-ad-din and with the entire first caliphate (the rashidun).

Growing up in a religious moslem family, formerly I thought that all non-moslem are kafir (non-believer to Allah). But reading the Koran by myself and following preacher like Dr. Shabir Ali, now I know that it is not accurate. Akbar is correct that follower of any religion can be called as believer to Allah, because indeed Allah is a generic term of GOD. In many verse in the Koran Allah state that any believer of GOD whom doing good deed is on HIS side. They too goes to jannah, no matter what their religion are. This is the first time I heard of Akbar's story, and I already become one of his admirer..

Great video, however, I would have preferred some more detail and nuance, covering Akbar's development through his reign, as it does form the dominant theme of his life. There are also some errors and omissions which I would like to point out: 1. Akbar's Mansabdari system originally did not have a command higher than that of 5000 sowars, cavalrymen, save for family members. The Mughal army was highly lean and centralized, with a centralized artillery under a Mir Atish. When numbers were needed, the Mansabdars were often supplemented by 'Dakhili' troops, who were ad hoc auxiliaries paid by the Central treasury, and not maintained by the Mansabdars themselves. Only the Emperor and the Governors, the Subedars, could command full armies. 2. The matter of Mewar's Sissodiya Rajputs is quite complex. Their prestige itself prevented thier complete annexation with the Mughal empire. With the exception of the Kachwahas, all other Rajput houses who allied with the Mughals, made a clause of not conducting hostilities against the Sissodiyas of Mewar. Under the leadership of Maharana Pratap, the Mughal forces were repelled from Mewar, and Akbar's preoccupation with wars in Bengal, Orissa and Afghanistan, as well as threat from the Uzbeks, meant that he could not devote much troops to another invasion of Mewar. It was only in Jehangir's reign, that a young Prince Khurram, masterfully subdued Mewar. But even that was under a treaty of self autonomy. 3. I would also point that the important parts covering Akbar's diplomacy in relation to the Uzbeks and the Persians, as well as his ruthlessness when dealing with the Pashtuns on his north western borders, were mostly skipped. This forms the most important factor of his later reign, and deserves consideration. Akbar recognized the Safavids as a greater threat to his power, and made peace with the Uzbeks, encouraging the latter to attack the Safavids. Taking advantage of Safavid distractions, Akbar then ceased Kandahar from the Persians, who were at the time in no position to retaliate, and were forced forced to accept Akbar' acquisition. Securing his borders, Akbar turned to brutally subjugating the Pashtuns, where Raja Todarmal and Raja Man Singh were the primary Mughal commanders. It was in honour of his contributions in this campaign that the Kachwahas were given their Five Colored Banner, signifying their victory of five Pashtun tribes.

State 3 good reasons and nothing else on why Akbar was a good king 1. Religious Tolerance: Akbar's policy of religious tolerance was exemplary for his time. He treated people of different faiths with respect and ensured freedom of worship, fostering an atmosphere of religious harmony and coexistence within his empire. 2. Administrative Reforms: Akbar introduced significant administrative reforms that enhanced the efficiency and stability of the Mughal Empire. His centralization of power and implementation of revenue reforms, such as Todar Mal's bandobast, contributed to better governance and increased revenue collection. 3. Promotion of Arts and Culture: Akbar's patronage of art, literature, and architecture led to a cultural renaissance during his reign. His court became a hub of creativity, attracting scholars, artists, and intellectuals, resulting in the development of magnificent architectural wonders and the flourishing of Persian literature and miniature paintings. Akbar never moved to far away from Islam and formed a new religion called "Din-i-Ilahi" he never even used the word. Din-i-Ilahi came much later during the civil war between Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. Dara Shikoh was the one who introduced. Though it is true that Akbar had an ethnical philosophy which promoted tolerance and didn't believe that Muslims can learn all the truth from Islam they said to seek and understand other religions, most famous example is the difference between how Muslims persists lived and how Buddhist monks lived, hence like your friend said so called "Din-i-Ilahi" was an extension of akbar's islamic sufi believes. Another thing to add in Islamic hadith it is said that there are around 100,000 messengers and prophets. Akbar semi controversial believed that Hinduism. Buddhism and other religions were not different from Christianity, like Buddha could have been an Islamic messenger. also "The house of worship" was failure, people argued more instead of agreeing. also allahu akbar, meaning Allah/God is great has nothing to do with Akbar himself. This is because Muslims in Pakistan and India refer the islamic God as Allah, and the concept god as Khuda. the myth of Din-i-Ilah comes from the following reasons 1) British mistranslation (the main reason) 2) Dara Shikoh using it was propaganda so he could legitimize Din-i-Ilahi 3) Islamic fundamentalist trying to convince people Akbar was not a Muslim so they could turn against him

Ali Sher Khan Anchan was ruler of Skardu who had conquered, Shigar, Khaplu, Rondu, Ladakh (twice) , Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar & Chitral. Akber diplomatically solve this matter through a marriage. Ali Sher Khan of Skardu was offered a Mughal queen and Akber recognised Ali Sher as the legitimate ruler of North Western India. The Maqpoons of Baltistan had built a special palace for this Mughal princess by the name of "Mandoq Khar, Rose Fort" near "Kharphocho palace" which is still exists in Skardu but is not in good shape/conditions.
