Billy, we have enjoyed watching the Convent project, including binging two years of videos to catch up! We love watching every aspect of the work from beginning work on a room to finishing touches. As long as you are moving forward and making progress it is interesting. We were just talking about the organ rebuild getting done for Christmas last year. It has been 11 months! Thank you for the wonderful videos you do. We will miss Rick as I am sure everyone on Team Petherick will. Wish he and his family much luck as they return to the UK. Please keep in touch!

Billy… you’re going to need Paddy full time with all the backlog of projects that you have for him….fabricate and install oak windows (6-8?) in dining room and library, install hallway and basement doors, fabricate and install oak railing around basement stairway, fabricate and install oak baseboard in hallway, install cabinets in library, fabricate and install connecting oak trim (architraves, etc.) in library, fabricate and install second floor railing around opening in library, fabricate and install circular stairway to gallery, and on and on. I have a sense you are sharing Paddy’s time with other chateau owners (Lalacele boys). Stan mentioned having new windows made for Pannard. This trim carpentry work definitely is the critical path to getting some of these rooms finished!

I still remember back in the 80's when they took out the spiral staircases from the Eiffel tower and sold them off in 3 metre pieces for not that much money. I saw one sell for over 500,000 euros not that long ago !

The Chapel is going to be beautiful once it's finished. I could see a lot of weddings being conducted there! I remember the first "big" project at the Convent was the creation of the offices on the 2nd floor. Are you getting a lot of use out of them? That was a really cool conversion from old hospital space to modern office space.

Here in the US ( I'm assuming also in France or the UK) I've seen very nice gas or propane fireplace inserts that look like either a wood burning stove or fake logs. Either would look great in your library fireplace. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

You should ask Michael to paint you a trompe l'oeil back panel for the fireplace. Maybe a chinese vase or some Delft tiles ? In the style of Graham Rust but Petherificied !

Billy we way back in cold war years picked up wrought iron pieces & they still are working weathering 60+ yrs in outdoor weather. I know import export but maybe they find a way around that being EU.
