I'm so glad that you're loving Austin!! :D It's honestly a great city and I love living here! It looks like you did your research and went to some great spots!! Lady bird lake is beautiful and there's so many great hiking trails as well!! Terry black's BBQ is bomb and the best in Texas IMO. You should (if you haven't already) take a stroll down south congress, there's such cute brunch spots including "two hands" and "summer house". If you need to go to the ER for any reason, go to Dell Seton Medical Center on 1500 Red river. I'm a nurse there and we'll take care of you! Lastly, I hope that I run into you at some point during your stay here!

The friendliness is honestly just a Texas thing. You will pretty much experience the same thing almost anywhere you go in Texas. Austin is nice and a good area. Try going out to San Antonio. It’s about an hour away. If you go to San Antonio you will see more of Texas.

Welcome to Austin! I love it here. I came from living in Miami Fl all my life and the weather here is so much better, for me. It’s only super hot in the summer in my opinion. The people here are so friendly. The food is fantastic and there is such a good vibe. I love the artistic nature of the city all while it’s becoming the new tech hub. Well you have now experienced our Texas Winter! It usually lasts about 4 days and then it’s great again. I live about 40 miles south of Austin in a German city where people go in the rivers and float from one place to another. Yes we are friendly and we love our state. The hill country is my favorite and I do hope when you come back you will continue to check things out, and there is a lot! You are right about the summers being hot and some people go to cool places in the summer if they can. See you later. Thanks 😊

I always tell people living in Austin feels like you're in a giant college campus - in the sense that no one is from Austin so everyone is new. Everyone is just eager to meet other people. Eager to be out and about doing things. It's fantastic honestly.

Yay!! omg ive been waiting for this vlog!! I'm glad you love Austin!! have a novel to write for my comment lol: I'm a Texan born and raised have been in Austin almost 4 years! I've lived in 3 other cities in Texas before Austin. Texans are friendly in general but Austin is very very different from other Texas cities. Its very "west coast meets Texas".which may be why you love it! ...lots of people are moving here bc they realize how great it is! Vibes are great. people are open minded and chill but go about 45 min-1 hour out and its true stereotypical Texas. Texans are proud of our states since there's a lot of pride in being a Texan. We have a ton of state history and lots to be proud of (and lots to not be proud of) Outside of Austin, people tend to be more traditional and want to keep Texas, Texas. Tacos are horrible in Austin (also general tex mex here sucks).. I've been here 4 years and haven't found a place i love. trust me... if you want tacos/tex mex go to either small towns / gas station tacos or Houston/San Antonio. Lots of taco places don't even make their own tortillas in Austin... bless their hearts.... for weather... just so you know its NOT anywhere close to "cool weather" 6 months of the year... more like 4-3 months of the year is below 90.. your instinct to pack dresses is smart! Its hell's doorstep from April-ish- Nov-ish. Then nice weather (80s) in Nov/Dec/April. This weather right now (high of 70) is winter not "surprisingly warm winter" its normal winter! Below 30 degrees is rare most winters. Snow is extremely rare like last week we were losing our minds. In my life i can count on one hand the times it snowed in central/south Texas and stuck to the ground... and 2 of them were last year and this year. It is not a place to 'live most of the year" if you like cool weather. Austin (and texas in general) is great if you love warm weather and thrive in 105 summers! Maybe Austin would be a good place to escape cold cold winters since winters are very mild. Like live here in the 4-3 month winter then escape like you said in April-Nov! I'm actually visiting Seattle in June to escape the summer here and am using your Seattle guide!! I'm so glad you love it here!!!

Hi! Welcome to Austin. A lot of Austinites like Kerbey Lane Cafe, and Magnolia Cafe. Kerbey has bomb pancakes. Magnolia has a wide variety of yummy things on their menu. I had recently been to Port Townsend, and I must say that area is much more pretty to me than down here. I like my cold weather, trees and that cold water! I got stranded at work during that ice storm and ended up doing 20 hours straight with a two hour nap in there in the middle. Essential worker at an assisted living facility. Austinites also like the Salt Lick(BBQ), Green Mesquite(BBQ), Torchy's Tacos. You have to hit Amy's ice cream sometime! Glad you're down here! A lot of people here love the Oasis, you might like that to watch a sunset, have dinner or a drink.

Welcome to Austin. That up and down weather, you even see it in the summer so it's not like you can expect Summers to constantly be hot and sunny. This last summer was actually very rainy, humid and a lot cooler than normal. Definitely check out Summer Moon coffee while you're here, fire roasted coffee is something you have to try at least once in your life. Delicious. Also go to an Alamo Drafthouse movie party if you can find one not sold out, or just go to a regular movie at the Alamo Drafthouse. Alamo Drafthouse is pretty much the best thing about Texas (that and HEB)

I visited Austin once for work for just a couple days - but was blown away by just how nice and friendly everyone was! And I’m from GA - so I feel like that’s saying something. The BBQ and breakfast tacos are an added bonus 😋

Hey there! Fellow Content creator here sending hellos and warm welcome from San Antonio 😌 I’ve been here in Texas for most of my life by way of Chicago, Illinois. When I visit my fam in Chicago I’m always ready to come back home to our Texas weather. 😎 We go to Austin for weekend get- a -ways a few times a year. Always love the food and night life. We also go to Corpus Christi Beach / Port Aransas for long weekends too. We are kinda in between both cities. It’s a shame we’re having another chilly 🥶 winter cuz you’re missing the beauty and sunshine! Hit up a PTerrys for a quick great burger, Travis Park and 6th street club block vibe. Sandra Bullock also has a bakery close by there. I’ve heard she pops in from time to time but I’ve never caught a glimpse yet! Lol 😆

I moved to Austin recently from Los Angeles and was very shocked on how kind the locals are. I suggest you visit again when it’s warmer. The city really comes alive with all the fun outdoor activities like hiking, paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake, picnics in Zilker Park, etc.! If you end up moving here, I would love to attend a meet & greet :) Safe travels & looking forward to your next Austin vlog.
