Montrose is an amazing Houston neighborhood! It’s one of the more pedestrian-friendly areas for sure. I love walking around that part of town. If you ever come back to Houston and if you enjoy art, try out the Menil Collection. It’s a smaller art museum so you can see all their exhibits in one day. The Menil has a lot of surrealism and an interesting room called “Witnesses” with unique and odd artifacts. The Menil is also free!

I love when you experience new things that I'm familiar with (me being a southern girl unfamiliar with big city life). We don't have those giant/touristy gas stations at home (although we do have bigger/nicer than usual ones with milkshakes, slushies, and/or really good southern food...pièce de résistance is a clean restroom) but we've come across the deluxe tourist model on road trips.
