Nice place. I love the quiet in the evenings at places like that. I used to spend weeks at a time at a cabin I built. I always used soft bags and coolers because they tie on easier. The big bags have ties on the ends. Like your place.. I have seen people towing small sleds in a few inches of snow behind wheelers.

The end shot is amazing. The sunset was great too. I remember going ice fishing with my dad and we would get to the shoreline with snow over the ice. Dad would say, I see shanties out there, but there were no cars or snowmobiles. He would say to me, what do you think, and I said go for it. And we would drive the ice. And hear the ice go crack, crack, crack pop, under us. Good stuff. Great fishing. I had no doubts. I knew you would make it through the ice. I did hear the crack when you first drove it.

Hi Raspberry Rockers😊❄️ I truly love the winter vlogs, there are no bugs. The girls aren’t as vulnerable to porcupines and skunks. You can walk across the pond. There’s no mud. It’s still not without its challenges but the crackling fire and the cozy cabin just makes me feel so happy for all of you. We are experiencing a polar vortex here in Alberta and the prairies. We haven’t really had our usual winter this year so I hesitate to complain. It’s not fun but I wouldn’t trade it for fire and volcanoes. Thank you for everything Russell and Alicia. All the best! 😊😝

Hey Russel, to help collect more rainfall water to double your collection rate, why not considure this spring adding gutters to the lower side of your wood pile metal roof! Plus If you also expanded the width of this roof by adding another 8 feet, would double this collection rate. Plus would allow the wood to dry better to burn better in the stove being more protected from rainfail with a wider roof. This gutter would be easy to clean more often with only small step ladder being not as high. Do think of installing a 12 volt marine pump self priming pump or like the pumps used in travel trailers (we used them 45 years ago) to pump it from the barrell up and over into your filtration pot inside by switch. If the barrel is mounted up high and it's close to the garden add a hose for gravity feed.
