Hello, Ashley, Jeremy and Samantha, I'm a new subscriber and i live in Florida and I'm 68 years young.....(so... I like to tell jokes too😊) I spent a few days watching all your videos because I wanted to know a little bit about you. Dear hearts, I'm so happy I did. You two are not afraid of hard work at all. When you bought the 65 acres, living in the camper, having to get the water from a stream and building a cabin by yourselves and having health issues, is just unbelievable. It's been a rough road, but I'm so happy of all the things you've been able to achieve. Ashley, you are an amazing girl. You have mentioned about the miscarriages. Let your body heal for a little bit, I know what I'm talking about, my girl. Jeremy, you are a fighter! You've been and still going through some health issues, but you keep on going. Please, don't be mad at me for saying this...I know that both of you like to do things for yourselves, but lifting heavy things are not good for neither one of you. I ran into the same shower situ and I ended up going with sheets of acrylic, contact cement to the wall and installed corner shelves for soaps and shampoos and it still going and that was 21 yrs ago.

I did land-lording for 25 years plus rehabbing our house in the 1990's. When doing Sheetrock installation, it is advised to leave a nail thickness gap between horizontal butting of S.rock. This gap will accept wall mud which will help strengthen the bond between both horizontal S.rock pieces. Making a 4' tee to support the upper horizontal S.rock makes it easier to keep S.rock positioned until screwed to wall studs. With regard to the shower faucet position problem: Look on-line and or local stores to find flat white plastic sheets which can be glued to shower enclosure walls. You will also need 2"x2"x 6' plastic L's for wall corners. Items used to be available years ago, but look around and see if same can be found in the current market place.

Yahoo it’s time for sleepovers!!!! You guys have done a great job of building this cabin. Little hiccups like the shower valve are no big deal. You’ve got a half dozen things you can do to make it work since you’ve still got the back side of the wall still open. Good plan on finishing the bedrooms first. Nothing like having a nice space to rest after a hard days work. 👍👍🇨🇦

Move the control valve over to the left stud. Need to cut out a square large enough to give room to unfasten the valve bracket, now hopefully there is enough slack in the pex hot & cold tubes to do this? If not you may need to fuse and connect some small tube extentions on. This will be hidden by the tub fiberglass panel. Suggest you make an access panel on the wall behind this valve in case you need to get at the valve or take the tub panel apart.

I am a Plumber, you could cut the 90 off the vent and move it over and use a 45 offset. That would give you room to lower the shower valve in that spot. The vent will still work.

Cutting and diverting the ABS would be the easiest way to fix the shower valve issue. A visit to Princess Auto for parts will do the trick. Living at the location gives a better feel for the space and what's needed. The Bathroom, shower, and kitchen sink all suddenly will become priorities.

I install shower doors for a living. Fiberglass is easy but tile is so much better. I'd just go tile, and leave the fiberglass pan.

January 8th, and still no snow here just up from the river on 114 . We were in Moncton yesterday and nothing there either, but the further away from the river there seems to be a little more accumulated. You must be fairly high in elevation as I notice you still have some bigger patches of snow. Take care, stay warm.

I would just redo the black pipe, kinda looks like a vent to me? But I would just lower the 3” tee and drop the 1” 90. Drill a new hole in the 2x4 and make your connection.

I would finish the bathroom first, only because if you want to spend the night there you might need to go, and maybe take a shower. I'd go ahead and move the water control knobs up and over that pipe. Y'all can reach it and it's your house not like you're going to flip it. Also I like the shelves, and what's good is if you need more space you can just take the top two boards off and put in longer ones that over hang the A-brace.

wouldn't be that hard to move the shower control to the left, just above the black pipe and to the left of it. Might get you close to center for the shower. Guess the tape measure will be the deciding factor.

If the wall where the shower control is not a load bearing wall .because the wall is one side open you might be able to jack studs on the right side of valve to allow proper install an you will not have a structure problem just a how to find studs to nail drywall on when finished.. I use this method but i only needed 4 inches to allow control to fit a flat surface ..you can put a new stud to the left if you are weary of this ...sort of like building in a hidden window🤠🤠🤠🤠TN

We don't know all the details of their particular situation but we just block crazy comments, never feed into them as well never go looking for what folks are saying about us online as we have had many bring it to our attention in the past. We just ignore it all. Again, that is just how we deal with things on our end, we don't know their situation fully. As far as trespassers on their property, that would be an issue dealt with offline. We hope they are doing well and find peace.

If you move your shower controls the old hole will be covered with the shower wall and therefore should not need to be patched

Unrelated and looking for your advice. I'm looking for a battery generator to run my fridge and small appliances. I have a gas unit now, but as I learned in the Army you can never have enough. Plus a portable situation is more beneficial, what is your recommendation for a 2k watt (thereabouts) unit.

We have been using a Bluetti 200P a lot over the past 1.5 years. We shared it in this video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpqsg5ZnZ7KLasU . We ran our solar fridge at out last homestead directly off the battery as it was a DC fridge and only used 56w when running. They are made by Unique off grid appliances. We had a gas stove and will again on this homestead. Anyways the unit in the link above is a 2000w unit and we even ran our Dewalt slider chop saw on it so has quite a bit of power. It is also expandable. Hope this helps.
