Off grid cabin compilation , a years worth of projects

This video is a condensed version of all the projects from the past year at the off grid cabin . building the cabin , the outhouse build , the solar power , the outdoor kitchen and more . its a fast paced and more enjoyable version with some information I forgot to add before.

Great compilation video! Loved seeing it all again. I could definitely live in that cabin. Perfect size for a single guy or girl ☺️. The only thing I would have added would be proper vent in the roof and soffit vent. Can't wait for the next video. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻

You Whipple folks sure do some great work, I have learnt a heck of a lot from watching you all and just love following along. Here's a top tip for when you are next building with blocks or bricks. Add a little dish washing soap when mixing up the cement mortar, it will make it flow like silky butter. Many thanks David in the UK.

I love the concept, the layout, and your editing style in the video. The solar setup is perfect for a small cabin like this. The only thing that was strange was how you realized you should reinforce your rim board and floor joists, but then built your stairs with treads set on 2x4's that are just nailed into the boards you used for stringers. If you leave it like that, it'll only be a few years before those become a pretty serious risk of failure. Oh yeah, that outdoor kitchen is awesome! :)

@@blackspruce1861 - At the very least, run high tensile strength construction bolts all the way through the stringer and 2x4 blocking. That will gain you quite a bit of security over what you have currently. Very inspiring video. :)

Great build love how you did the inside turned out great outside looks good too. You can definitely tell your part of the Whipple family hahaha. Whitewater Drive in a well so you have water out there. Maybe next time. It's nice to see someone resource everything from what is around you really can't put a value on that until you are finished. Thanks!!! I’ve been thinking about driving a well out there might do it this spring. It sure is nice and it gives me a little more satisfaction to look at the floor and say nope I didn’t just buy that flooring I cut the trees from my property and had it milled up .

Great video as always ! A roof over that awesome outdoor kitchen might be a fun project 😎. Couple strips of the translucent roofing between the metal. Or maybe all translucent who knows. Just spitballin. Led sticky lights from the solar for night time. 😄 Take care Ryan

Thanks !! thats what I was thinking if I did a roof I would want it to be all clear panels but I'm guessing they would get pretty dark from the smoke and thats kinda holding me up on that thought because I want the view and light . I like your idea of lighting it that would be pretty cool

Great job, wish i had your talents hopefully on your outdoor kitchen you make some kind of roof system so when it rains and the wind blows so you and the fire's don't get wet, something like a lean to, but all and all you did a great job, can't wait till your next project. Thanks, Larry

Thanks !! I'm thinking of possibly adding a roof I'm not sure though . If I did I would want to use the clear plastic panels because I really want the view and light but they would probably get pretty dark from the smoke so not sure on that quite yet . it will be a while before the ground thaws so ill have some time to think on it . I have an idea for a removable oven/smoker for it though that I'm hoping works
