Is it going too far to call that world class cinematography? Given the difficulty of this happening suddenly, filming at sunset, with the constraints of the boat and got that footage in 1 take!!! Well done you two.

I think when that dolphin was looking at you he was saying can you go faster so I can play in the bow wave please. 😁 The sunset was beautiful and the drone shots were excellent. Brandy being nervous when entering tricky ports is normal but you handled it like a pro. 👍 I can't wait for next weeks video. Be safe but have fun. ⛵🇺🇸

Tricky waters. You have to be from there! Especially in the sound. Was on the ferry from Hatteras and it hit a sand bar at low tide. I watched the front come up a foot and over the other side. Captain was pissed. Probably a dinged prop. In 2019 Voith Schneider Propeller were installed.

Ever thought of mounting a small wireless solar run camera at the top of your mast in order to scan just ahead of your bow? Looking for those nasty shoals/reefs that make you sweat. You might still need to watch for reflection off the water at certain times, but watching how you both handle your vessel, you'd get the hang of it pretty quick.
@BeauAndBrandy11 ай бұрын
We’ve done the scan with the drone, like when we went into ocracoke inlet in the previous video. It was pretty difficult to see with the reflection like you mention.

I have sailed that ICW area many times. I have never known anyone to use that Oakacroke inlet. My butt was puckered. The ICW is a fun trip if you haven’t done it before. We prefer to be offshore sailing, but there are some wonderful places to sea on the ICW. Great Harbor has a 48 hour fee dock and it’s a nice place to stop and take a break. Be sure to see the maritime museum in Beaufort as they have recovered artifacts from Queen Anne’s Revenge which was located right outside the inlet there in Beaufort. You guys will love Pourtsmouth, VA. Also there is another great little maritime (free) museum in Hampton, Va that houses the civil war ship Merrimack. Figures we are in the West Indies and now you guys are up there near the Chesapeake. Have fun

Wow that was nerve wrecking undeep. Just the other day we see a boat sinking hitting the reef next to the marina we’re in… it took just one mistake… and then the water went down…next morning the boat was ( and still is ) under.. We have a 7.5ft deep keel, would have been terribly stuck at that track… to me it’s not worth taking such risk.. I would have taken the bumpy ride instead.. because once it start to go wrong… all may be lost.

When you reach Rhode Island, don't miss Narragansett Bay and for a cute island right across from Newport, spend a day anchoring off Jamestown and go and walk around the water front and enjoy restaurants, and shops all within walking distance. The island is only one mile wide so you can cover a lot of ground just walking Narragansett Avenue from what is called the East Ferry landing to the West Ferry. Also, sailing around the southern tips of both Jamestown and Newport will provide lots of eye candy in the way of GIANT Victorian Mansions the owners called summer "cottages". In Newport, there is of course, "The Breakers", "Rosecliff" and The Astor's "Beechwood" which are on the Cliff Walk (waterfront) you can see from the water. These were where "The Great Gatsby" was filmed. Also Newport hosted the America's Cup races for many years. Some of the old 12 Meter Yachts and before them the larger J Boats that once raced in those races are moored in Newport Harbor>>>>>>> In colonial times Newport was the first major seaport before Boston and New York were.>>>>>>>>> In Jamestown there are private homes including "Horse head" and "Clingstone" you can see as you enter Narragansett Bay and other huge Victorian Homes along the waterfront and up on the hill near "The Dumplings". I could go on but there are plenty of videos you find to get ideas of what to see and do in Jamestown and Newport.

Do you grasp metrics? Shallows. It's like a Norwegian (me) sailing in Denmark. I feel uncomfortable in depts less than 30 metres. And any place Denmark is hardly 15 metres. And there are a lot of moving sand. So one has to follow the buoys, and not the chart. We are 2,25 metres deep. And it's a lot of harbours that we can not enter i Denmark. Understand the stress situation :-)
