I am a 74 yr old woman. I watch these videos before I go to bed. I go to sleep snug in my bed with the fan running and thinking about snowy days and sleeping in the woods.

From the time I was just a boy, I've been making different kinds of shelters in the woods. All through my life the skills I learned building those shelters came in handy. Now I'm an old man and enjoy watching others doing the same thing and learning from it!

Piszę z Polski i po polsku, nie znam angielskiego. Palisz w pięknym piecu. I pięknie zadymisz całą okolicę. Nałóż drewna, rozpal na górze, niech pali się od góry. Mało lub wcale dymu. To zależy jak suche masz drewno. Później dokładaj drewna małymi porcjami, nie dopuszczając by wypalił się żar. Paląc w ten sposób, dużo dymu masz tylko na początku, gdy rozpalasz. Jak już masz taką inwestycję, postaraj się o beczkę, metalową, tak ok 50 litrów. Przepuść przez nią komin wewnątrz chaty, i wypełnij ja piaskiem. Piasek nagrzeje się i będzie oddawać ciepło gdy będziesz spać i wygaśnie ogień piecu. To taka prowizoryczną bateria piaskowa. Powodzenia i pozdrawiam.

I know the anxiety of waiting for a big storm, but you still have so much work to finish before the snow hits. Survival and comfort in the bush takes a lot of labour. Nothing is for free. 👍

I think I might have covered the sides of the entrance from roof to ground to keep wind, rain and snow from blowing in from the sides and wetting your firewood store? Hope that was not a toilet you were digging under the floor?? lol! As children we used to dig "camps" on the local moor but nothing as grand as this! WELL DONE!!
