i mean i get your point about theyre possibly gonna break out of the kpop image more. but tbh theyve always cursed, theyve always had sexual themes in their songs, theyve always been rebellious anti establishment and made their own rules and broke "rules" bighit used to have so bighit just got rid of the rules. so like i get what youre saying but they already been doing that for years. imo i think theyll be grittier like you said but maybe more direct is probably the word. also its called chapter 2 of bts. rm did say he will and the rest of the group will have a lot more to say when they come back and like didnt mean "oh were leaving so we will naturally have a lot to share when we come back" but rather "were gonna get some shit off our chests and we dont care whos bothered" type of having something to say. thats the vibe korean armys got from what they said before they left. its really less not trying to be kpop and more not trying to LEAD kpop or be kpop representatives, be disrespected by the industry and government then be asked or forced to represent them both. thats another thing that ties into the boycott and things of that nature because bts were basically threatened/forced to represent their government. the whole busan concert for the world expo year that was first denied by bighit/hybe so government people went to jimin and jungkooks PARENTS house to "ask" bts to reconsider. they def didnt just ask. bts are grown men and their label/company already said no but they basically forced them by "asking" their parents. implies a subtle threat imo. they tried to do the same thing again when that jamboree thing happened basically korea was chosen to host a international thing for kids from all over the world and it was a complete mess and they tried to force bts who were half enlisted at this time to come and save the government from embarrassment. bighit and hybe again refused and other parts of the government got involved saying it was unethical to ask when some members are enlisted. but like the nerve to keep trying to use them and push after bts said no already. another thing is RM was visiting a monk at a temple and donating to their charity. RM doesnt believe in a god but is open to learning about different religions and respects everyones religion and culture. he went to speak to a monk to get some advice, wisdom, clarity etc same how people go speak to priests. well the monk went to the media and told them everything rm said breaking his trust when all religious figures are supposed to keep peoples conversations private unless they say something about harming themselves or others. i think thats why the monk line was mentioned too. another thing people who work at the train station RM uses literally sold his private information and did not get fired or recieve jail time. this was all 2017 - 2023. so i feel like hes been holding in a lot.
