@ 6:20 I always recommend fixing the flue joints with self-drilling screws (it doesn't matter if it is required or not in the installation manual: if the flue is not plastered in the wall then it is safer for the joints to be fastened with self-drilling screws ) : just yesterday I went to a vaillant with F29 fault (repeated ignition failed) - where the flue was ripped from the boiler by a piece of ice that fell from the roof of the building ....

9:21 In our country this gas boilers are called immergas : I use to love and recommend this tipe of boilers.... use to.... The "victrix pro" of this brand outlas any other brand of boilers in price and reliability poit of view ... usually they last more than 10-15 years with any repair at all :) and i never have one with water coming from the chimney in the electronic boards or other components because they have a water collector (viessmann are the best on the market in directing the water from the chimney in fans and gas valves; very nice feature; i have to admit that they they started correcting (with baby steps) this "feature" in their newer models) For the hydraulic part are ok with good and reliable parts + easy to mantain (except the noisy 3 way valve stepper motor ); BUT the main electric board is Close to junk (in the "victrix Tera model; i think you have the "Victrix omnia" equivalent ) and i dont think that many of the electronic boards will ever reach 10 years of life because the boards are unstable (software + hardware)... (Viessmann is the winner in the Junk electronic board challenge wit the old 050 model) . I asked the local representative of Immergas for an extended warranty form 2 to at least 5 years on the electric main boards but i dindt get it for the moment ... but I will keep asking ;) This is a budget model with a 5:1 modulation; I believe that there should be no more boilers with modulation below 10: 1 due to the advantages of a higher modulation of power :) If in your country will recive a better revision of the electronic main board lucky you :) Another downside of this brand is the stubbornness and lack of interest in offering open therm as a communication protocol .. The good :historic/usually this brand products outlas many of vaillant, viessmann, bosch and ariston group of boilers ;) and i close to never seen any broken 3 way valve from this brand; I have to include Beretta in this category - and together they are proof that a 3-way valve can be made to last over time.

Hi watched your video we are installing a old alpha intec2-28xe combi with the flow/return heating pipes going up in the back of the frame, near impossible to find information on down load in stallion manuals regarding the return tee which is used since one end of the tee is blanked off found not able to heat the blank and remove it. On your video the return pipe goes into the filler but with the tee it is used going upwards and down towards the skirting for rads on say ground floor area but no mention about that point on how one would remove the blank end of the tee based on going upwards and not just down wards. I think realise the blank as same as the tee part is brazed together and will have to cut the blank off. Your video was the only one I found showing pipe work goes up the back of the frame thanks keep smiling!

@ 5:27 I always prefer to recommend to customers with multilevel houses to put a boiler (with high modulation) on each floor, instead of installing a higher power boiler: 1 redundant (if one fails the other can take its place until someone comes to repair it the defective one); 2 comforts; 3: sometimes a lower final installation price on the entire heating system ....

Hi Allen, another great video, l do like your videos👍. I’m looking to start installing alpha as I work for a firm and go out to service them I must admit I do like them. In your video you say they are a budget boiler is that because of the price they are? Why I say that is because don’t you think over brands are over priced? or is alpha selling them at the right price and the top brands are raking it in, come on the warranty that alpha give you says a lot for they product, maybe it the after sales I don’t know what you paying the extra for. Just to say most recently been called out to a top band of boiler which I won’t name had a fault, I.e water exploding in side and soaking all the wiring and PCB🙈. It’s buying a car, a new car from the show room can also brake down just the luck of the draw. So budget I don’t know or are we fitting over priced boilers? Keep the videos coming Allen 👍

We fit them not through my choice though, that's an E-Tec that you've got there. Don't really know what the difference is between the Evoke and E-Tec as they look the same and I believe all that's different is length of warranty. I don't like them main reason is the pipework layout is just so backwards and annoying its unbelievable. Makes swaps be untidy. Secondly they aren't very efficient compared to most, they allow maximum of 450ppm and out the box they can up be to 200ppm which I think is awful personally. Cheap like Vokera's and not my favourite whatsoever. I do however like the Prem Pack it's quite a good setup but overall I don't like them.

The Evoke is the cheapest on the market for 7 year warranty I believe. My boss won't budge from fitting them for landlords due to the price and warranty length. This boiler smashes everything on the market. Installers moaning about having to swap pipes over, the boiler will be running for 15+ years. Think about the customer. Stainless Steel heat exchanger, grundfos pump, honeywell pcb and gas valve with a 13 year parts and labour guarantee allows opentherm connection for 3rd party controls ( unlike worcester). Or you can buy a worcester for double the price with an aluminium heat exchanger which will need attention every 2 years minimum, a vaillant for double the price which could throw up a f61 fault requiring a new gas valve and or pcb £500+ or an ideal and have a pinhole in the heat exchanger or a cracked sump. Glowworm same problems as vaillant including their poor customer service. Potterton/baxi made good boilers 20 years ago, unfortunately no more. Viessman, you can pay the same price but have a shorter warranty. Tell me I'm wrong!
