It's great how you keep building off the ideas from previous videos mentioning the same facts several times to help the viewer remember these things. Wish my Physics professor did this! lol

what happens with daughter atom then? it becomes an anion, right? Does it release two electrons or maybe alpha particle grabs them later?

That's what I thought too. It really confuses me a lot what happens with the electrons in the process 🤷🏻♂️

So does that basically mean as the nucleus gets larger (due to increased nucleons), decay takes place because of the overpowering electrical force between the protons AND because the short-range strong nuclear force ceases to exist at larger distances/becomes less effective? Is that the right way to think about it? Don't know if you'll reply but thanks for the great vids anyways :)

That's hilarious, if you ingest a source of alpha particles you die horribly and meanwhile people are huffing helium because it makes them sound funny
