We went in to the lab again. This time we are going to look at parallel filters. Yes: those 'magic plugs' that clean up power for our lovely hifi gear. Do they actually do something? Let's find out!

If you stop doing these tests due to A--holes you're letting them win. Please keep up the great work!

Great job, thank you. Never thought that something a little larger than the plug could make any serious difference.

@@TheAlphaAudio you are correct. However, I do not think they do as much as the purchaser believes they will. That’s why say “serious difference”. I do enjoy seeing you having fun, sort of stuff I like to do.

On my little yt channels there is a setting where potentially disrespectful comments are filtered to you and you can get delete them. I would do that if I were in your shoes and I have done it on mine. Its so refreshing not having an influencer running a channel with sociopathic charm and engaging & convincing yet incorrect advice at times so I hope you keep it up.

@@TheAlphaAudio when you upload your videos, from the 1st page on YT upload choose 'Show More' then scroll down to 'Comments and Ratings' and you can choose your settings. You can make that the template for all your future postings so you don't have to repeat it every time but I forget how I did that

Thankyou so much for what you are doing in the Test Lab. As a60+ year Audiophiliac, and retired Electronics Engineer who started his career in High End Audio Servicing, I am very envious of your Test Gear setup. I think that your "Feedback Issues" are generally (mostly) due to ignorance, mostly due to a lack of understanding of the "Scientific Method", and also how it is almost impossible to undertake such measurements as attempted on this channel. Just don't engage with those A--holes. You would loose too much valuable time in the Lab if you start interacting with those who give humanity a bad name... Thanks again...

This was really good. I really don't understand why these things matter so much when my audio equipment converts everything to DC, but it does make a difference. I have a parallel transformer and an isolation transformer and there is a favorable difference, except on hot days when the grid is loaded by air conditioners and etc.

If you use larger caps on parallel filters you can go much lower with noise reduction, I have used 30uf value caps which are large, then cascade down to .01uf or less

Thank you and please continue the excellent series. Ignore the haters as you can't please or change mind of everyone. Flat earthers case in point. How about testing of those Entreq earthing boxes (for fun)? Also really interesting about negative effect of SMPS plugged into another transformer. Something I will look to avoid now so thank-you very much for the education :)

Have you done any measurements to see if there is any impact on the output of audio devices (amps/dacs etc) when these types of filters or mains conditioners are applied to their mains inputs?

1. It's a tough world out there, most of us fantasies about being in our privet tropical resort with no out side feedback if it not / unless it is positive and compliment Sadly, it is only a fantasy... 2. Modern times brought us consumer audio products that are well designed - some of them are even well manufactured - that have excellent inside the box power supply performance. So if your mesurmant's shows how poorly/good performed that box or the other (power sup noise issues for example) - fantastic! a true valuable information for the modern music listener homo sapiance. Dacs, pres, powers, integrated, processors that can be plugged to the wall outlet and preform with high Q&A over wide range of parameters - ARE out there on the free market and some of them even priced with respect for the customer and modern time market competition and brands flood/saturation. 3. Most of us - YT channels consumers - are not qualified/trained measurements and analysis engineers - it would be of the out most help if you will explain us your protocols, your tools the way you calibrate referance,scale/resolution Software setups/modes and most importantly: Why and how you interpreting the data and correlate it to audio signal quality improvmant/deterioration on the consumer= Listener EARS side. Whether it's in the known audible scale/psycoacustic acknowledged or on the theoretical / absolute / golden ears scale. 4. It's takes time and persistence to build a strong YT channel and "mostly positive" feedback comments community. especially when that channel is in crowded market. Be patience, keep it interesting and educational, demonstrate Consistancy of quality production, presentation and analysis and you will gain what you are aiming at. Be blessed, healthy, free, educated and prosper.

Hello! What could be the best option for power filtering in case of active speakers (D class) + pc setup? Is it reasonable at all?
@TheAlphaAudio
@TheAlphaAudio 11 ай бұрын
It completely depends on the resolution of the system. Pc power supplies are very dirty. So filtering that could definitely help.

-60dB of noise plus -60dB (in the worse case) of PSRR of an amplifier -120dB which you won’t hear at all.
