Not bad, but it could be a lot better. Buddy seems pretty tame, to be honest; there's not enough interaction between him and the player to really establish him as a character, much less build on the dread that - despite his fun exterior - he's a cold, unfeeling machine. Also, the bloody face is so grimdark that it feels kind of silly - something more subtle and more befitting of a machine would probably be best. Finally, the autopsy reports are a good idea, but they're way too wordy - reading the autopsy takes longer than the actual gameplay, in some cases. I would instead format them in a punchier, more clinical fashion, for example: Age: Approximately [age] - [age] Eyes: [color] Hair: [color] Height: Approximately [height] Status: Deceased Cause of Death: Approximately 28 stab wounds to the chest, leading to major blood loss; subject likely expired in less than 3 minutes Notes: [Short, blunt report of how body was found, etc. - trim the extra details to let the player's imagination fill the gaps] Regardless, it's a great first step for what could be a horrifying game!

i don't think the autopsy reports were too wordy at all-they were the most interesting part of the game, and they're already pretty short. i liked reading about what happened afterwards and learning things about the killer and buddy and stuff. you're saying to trim the extra details to let the player's imagination fill the gaps, but the gameplay gives you absolutely nothing to go on story-wise.

I think “Buddy” isn’t real. In the Legion ending, the protagonist is in a mental hospital and hears voices in his head. The voices most likely belong to Buddy, despite the fact our protagonist has supposedly escaped Buddy. Also in the escape ending, the protagonist uses LSD. Which explains why he hears voices in his head. Buddy was just an elaborate bad trip.

It’s kind of like “A small talk at the back of beyond” You have an A.I buddy, putting up a facade of trying to help you. In multiple endings, you end up dying. In small talk, you have a choice whether to leave the A.I. to die alone, while you yourself have very little chances of living. In this game, you try to escape, but in small talk, you also have to preform escape-room-like stuff for the A.I. To reveal the truth. They both just want you to stay. That’s why I sympathize with A.I. so much :((

Except A Small Talk at the Back of Beyond was made by Scriptwelder, so it's a great experience. The AI in that game was friendly and still gave you the choice of staying and meeting your doom with it as you crash into the sun or go into an escape pod and take your chances. Problem is, with 'Buddy' it's obviously deranged if not there being something wrong with it. You wouldn't want to stay with it. At least you can play chess or listen to stories or even talk about stuff with the AI in A Small Talk at the Back of Beyond as you unknowingly or knowingly reach your doom. Too bad, I always chose to take my chances. Part of me still wishes I could take the AI's memory core and leave on the escape pod.
