I would suggest, take a look at the Emeet S600 .... This is also very budget-"ish" but for the pricepoint, thats solid. I'm not disappointed at all... It'll replace my Sony A5000 (which I used as my webcam with a clean hdmi out mod)

@@Merciful_Angel You have to be open about sponsorships, if you don't disclose sponsorships and make them obvious then you break KZbin terms of service and depending where you live you break actual laws. Shouldn't be praised about being up front about sponsorships, it's literally required, if someone doesn't do it they can find themselves in serious trouble. As for the second point, I can somewhat agree, though there are other webcams of similar or arguably better quality around the same price point as the one he's sponsored by, and by having that specific camera in that price slot it means he isn't giving information on other products in the same price range.

I'd still recommend buying a old mirrorless camera and capture card as well as a good lens. Will be much better than any webcam Edit - Just use your phone

In deed I want to try getting one of the 1"-class cams like the Canon G5 X Mark II, which can output a clean HDMI. I do a lot of cycling-holidays, and this light, compact cam (with a viewfinder) would double as carry around cam on tour, where my big DSLM-equipment simply is too heavy and the trip is worth not only being shot on the smartphone. But be carefull with "old mirrorless" or the previous 1" cams (Sony, Panasonic, Canon) and check first, it can provide a clean HDMI... as some older cams where not able to or had a hard limit on the recording-time etc.

@@maxzett that's why I explained the 2nd usecase... and I already would have a decent cam, to use as hdmi-source - I just don't want thate "monster" behind my monitor all the time - resp. having to unmount and setup it all the time I really need it as cam. For the casual business-meeting I have a simple Logitech 922... decent enough for a small teams-window in a conference-call, where half the people just use their builtin cam in the notebook (and I have some light)

@@maxzett Yeah, even comparing Elgato to Elgato, the cheapest 4k60 capture seems to be the (imaginatively-named) 4k60 Pro internal capture card. So... £180 for the capture card alone or £300 (UK prices) for the Facecam Pro. And I say this as someone who does have a mirrorless camera which I use with a capture device. My setup is more like £400 and is only 1080p60.

Worth saying that if you're running on Android, Droidcam functions largely the same as EpocCam, but integrates into OBS (for free) There's no Elgato customization with it, but it's not too bad if you're down to apply camera filters in OBS! :)

I like OBSBOT Tiny at 11:45. Does this have a good quality speaker and microphone as well? Bc. a lot of built-in 24" PC screen monitor speaker, microphone, and even the 2MP camera i've read in reviews were bad. Speaker isn't loud enough, mic doesn't pickup ur voice well, etc. Yes, i'm impressed w the vido sharpness, exposures, colors, etc. but the voicing quality is important too. Pls reply.

Sony a5100, Elgato Cam Link Pro, Sigma 16 mm, f1.4. Still one of the best combos if you are okay with 1080 which is still great for streaming.

Still rocking the Nexigo N660P 1080 60fps webcam and loving it. I find that recording in 4K takes up way to much memory even for short vids, takes longer to import/export from software, longer to upload and process for smaller KZbin channels. 4K does not matter when watching from your phone when out and about. Most have the auto setting enabled for vids and 1080p is just fine. (Use my iPhone pro for higher res pics for thumbnails 😊)

@Senpai I own the Elgato FaceCam Pro. With a recent update to the software, it is now possible to do things like AI face detection and tracking, blur the background or replace it with an image, or use the creepy but cool eye contact feature.

As long as you have a Nvidia Grapicscard, the AI stuff and filters does not work if you have an AMD or Intel GPU. I think this is important to mention about the CamHub AI features. Don't get me wrong, I use an Elgato FaceCam Mk.2, and have an AMD GPU, I don't miss the AI stuff, and I love the cam.

For dedicated webcams, I have an Obsbot Tiny 2 and/or an AVerMedia PW513L. Using either one usually means I have the best video of everyone on the call. I also have a C920, but it's a backup now. I thought I would be using my Canon R50 as a webcam, but it's very much overkill for that.

I remember the first time I ever used a webcam was on Yahoo chat in the quality was so horrible that when you would move it would be blurry it was a 1.3 megapixel camera but back in 2003 or whatever that was. People were blown away that you can actually see somebody that they were talking to. Nowadays we take it for granted that everything is HD and the resolution is pretty good

I love that webcams have come a long way but I am def more excited by actual cameras coming the other way, like the E10 in this video. I struggle to see why I would buy the higher end "webcam" models here instead of a Sony ZV-1F or ZV-E10. Used those cameras can get relatively cheap and just offer more.

Looks like elgato EPOCCAM is completely unavailable on Android due to "updates" elgato is making to improve the app. I haven't seen any public updates as for when it will come back for well over three years. What should I do? Any good alternatives with the same if not similar level of quality? 😅

I used the main camera of an older flagship Android phone as a web cam for remote learning using android-only IP Webcam several years ago. With adequate lighting it was the best image of anyone in the class, for better or worse. If Epocam is a less jank solution that works on Android as well as iOS, it would be worth the paid upgrade.

Logitech MX Brio Ultra HD 4K Streaming Webcam, 1080p at 60 FPS uses the latest Starvos Sony sensor with a wide field of view. After 3 returns on webcams, this is one we kept. No wonky AI tracking which refused turn off (OSBOT). No crashing drivers (Razor). No missing mics. Adjusting the MX Brio Ultra was easy with the Logitech software (G-Suit or Logi Tuner) It was stable and never crashed once. Logitech always had the best support and stable drivers. For being slow and pokey to adopt the newest sensors, Logitech finally did a solid and updated the hardware to match the software.

9:15 I got epoc half a year ago, used it a couple of times - all was good. But the last 2 months I had to use it more and it was unbearable I spent hours trying to get epoc to work, and in the end, had to rollback elgato camera hub to v1.4, lose all new quality-of-life features, and now it works but only under the condition that I will reset the camera app settings every time before I launch epoc. So yeah I am still in the market for a new webcam :) THX epoc!d

What mic would you be using? I honestly don't think its necessary, with how high quality microphones have gotten now a days. You could get a usb mic that competes with a shuresm7b maybe even better than it. And thats just crazy

Logitech have certainly done a good job of maintaining that place of being the first webcam you buy. The Brio 100 was the first webcam I bought a few weeks ago, and then immediately returned it in favour of using my phone, because it was awful. I feel Logitech should be aiming for "The last webcam you ever buy" rather than the first. Still, they were the first I went to, so kudos to them. Now, I need to find an actual good camera.

Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra has the largest sensor of any dedicated webcam, so if you can afford it, and don't need a motorized gimbal, that's where I would start.

im sure he plugged it in via USB. (720p - no 1080 or 4k) next thing is i believe he rendered this video wider than 16:9 so he had to zoom in. What you see is not nearly what this cam can do. (but i also believe he has done this on purpose - cause if you buy a webcam you dont need extra stuff - plug and play style)^^

I remember those big ass bulbus webcams that came wit their own little tripod stand and they would come with their own software you'd have wait like 20 minutes to download, then set up, and when you finally set up it doesn't really work, the call is always spotty at best. Those were some times.

OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite's quality looked slightly better than EFP- 4K60FPS. The 60fps was immediately noticeable though. I'd say the Razer one looks the best with, weirdly enough, the last camera being the 2nd worst next to logitech.
