I started with a c920,then bought a razer kiyo with the light ring, because I though the lights would help, it didn't. Now I have the Elgato Facecam and it is by far the best I've used. I no longer have to spend 15 minutes setting up my camera in obs everytime I want to stream, I use a green screen so wide viewing angles doesn't really matter to me, I prefer ease of use with decent image quality which I feel I get from the Facecam.

The Insta360 might be perfect for VR streamers. A lot of those that have a camera on their play space are zoomed far out to capture all their movements. If this one would follow then might make for a better view.

One of the biggest issues that I will stay away from the Insta360 (and no one on KZbin has ever mentioned) is the privacy concern: the camera pings Chinese Domain 1K Per Day. Also their software has shady privacy agreement that I don't think we should take the risk. This is confirmed by our IT with the same finding from one of their Amazon reviews: "my corporate IT security team which made me immediately cease and desist the use of the Instalink360 webcam because the software sends information to a Chinese owned Domain Name Service (DNS). My network security team flagged the device because it was flooding my companies firewall logs with over 1,000 DNS calls with in a 24 hour period."

I have the HuddleCam HD USB which is great for me because it shoots in 4k but can go down to 1080p and is SUPER wide and can zoom in very close. But when switching down to 1080, it samples from the 4k so even zooming in at 1080 it will keep staying there because of the 4k sampling. And it comes with a handy remote with 9 presets that you can set and can have up to 4 cameras connected to the same remote all with 9 presets each. It's very expensive, but for everything that you get it's an amazing webcam. And the quality of it is immaculate

I think your focus on wide field of view is opposite what many people want in a webcam. I know I specifically have to cut the sides off my c920 when I use it b/c the angle is too wide for a professional meeting video(Where I have a photo backdrop hanging to hide the rest of my house, lol). I feel that Streamers aren't always going to be looking for wide angle either. So I think you shouldn't focus too much on that. Even with 4k ...

I think Harris' point of view is that you can always choose a narrow fov on a wide cam or cut it down as you described, but you can't go wider on a camera that doesn't support it.

If the angle is too wide, you can always crop it, either by editing if you are making videos, or by using OBS , cutting your webcam's FOV there, and either streaming directly with it or using OBS virtual camera in your videoconference app, but if your FOV is too narrow, you can´t make it wider

I LOVE the Elgato Facecam for it's simplicity, image quality and colour reproduction. More over, it's software is fantastic, doesn't feel unnecessary or bloaty. I have a 513 also from AVerMedia and while it was fine at first, for whatever reason it has lost the ability to have a sharp image and everything looks blurred or smudged together. Lens is clean and it stays that way no matter what settings I fiddle with. I think it's a bad software / firmware issue though.

I’m actually another of the Kiyo Pro fans. The low light sensitivity combined with the size and shape allowed me to slaughter (remove the rear thread) a 52mm to 58mm step up camera filter adapter ring and tape it to the front of the camera. Now I have polarizing filter in front of it to almost completely remove glare from my glasses’ blue light filter and can still get a decent image at 60fps in soft warm light.

Same here!! No issues for me on my Kiyo Pro and color out of the box and in my room is great. I had no fuss to set it up. I was quick to point out how unfair Harris was in his Kiyo Pro and Elgato Facecam reviews. Check them out and you'll see how heavily biased he is towards Elgato. Anyway, just my opinion

I bought the Elgato after watching many reviews on it, but my image quality is no where near what it shows on this video. Maybe that has to do with how I am using it, or some other factors, but definitely feeling kinda bla about it currently.

I got a Kiyo Pro for 99 CAD a little while back. The "Narrow" setting isn't all that narrow and if fixes the rectilinear problem. Image quality is perfectly fine. Better than the PW315 at work. HRD is great even though it's only at 30 frames but I find that it looks better than no HDR at 60 frames. Then again I only use this webcam for work calls. If I were to stream I have a Lumix G7 and GH4 that I could hook into a cheap capture card and it would be miles better than any of the webcams shown.

kiyo pro is a damn good camera for 100 bucks.. its hands down the best camera for a streamer starting out.. compared to all the other junk out there..I feel like alot of people just dont know how to properly mess with the camera software settings and then complain about it..

Lol no. I'm a streamer, and with an old c930 and a canon m50 mark II. I couldn't be bothered to use my Canon for streaming, unless VOD content.. for this reason, I bought the elgato facecam which I now regret. The best bang for the buck + image quality on this list is the Insta and logitech streamcam. You know I'm right @senpaigaming , but I do understand you have to keep sponsor demands at bay.

Omg. So I have the Razer Kiyo Pro. I liked the form factor, I have a razer mouse, so I was using Synapse anyway. I actually did get it to work in OBS. For quite some time actually. 6+ months. But then within the last month, OBS just will NOT work with it. I have a feeling OBS did an update and it horked something up. So yeah, Now I have this webcam that was great, but now I have to use Synapse to capture video. lol

Nexigo also makes webcams with surprisingly good image quality, especially after some adjustments/color correction/etc. And budget friendly too. On the other end of things, the Sony A5000 with a quick little software hack for clean hdmi out (tutorials on YT, its easy), and a Sony 16mm f2.8 lens with a cheap capture card is an insane value. All in, easily doable under $300 which would be less than some of these webcams. I did one up where I only spent about $250. A full on 1080p mirrorless camera setup for streaming for around $250. Pretty sick.

When I search for the things you mentioned I see just that Sony lens by itself can cost up to $250, and the camera body is another $300. So can you elaborate on how you can "easily" get an A5000, lense and capture card under $300?

@@ogLenas it's called the secondary market and looking for good deals on devices. I found an a5000 for 180 and a lens for another 90. I already have a capture card, but a decent 1080p60 capture card is only about 30 bucks. I don't know where you're searching but eBay is your friend.

I'm using the Razer Kiyo Pro on OBS without any issues (well... stupid windows sometimes messes with it and I have to unplug then plug it again for it to work or even reroll the driver that windows rewrite from time to time f$@# windows updates). I love its image (even in low light) and has been my fave webcam for a while which I bought after watching a review on this channel a while ago. Anyway, where I live its almost impossible to find avermedia webcams and if I do, they are overpriced, so probably when I get another webcam (can't afford a real camera) would go for elgato's. Awesome video as always Harris, don't hate on razer... they suck on almost everything... (i said almost) and I do hate their stupid software so so very much.

I knew the Streamcam was going to be up there, it was just a disappointment from the start. My guess for the second one was going to be either the PW315 or Duo, but the Kiyo surprised me a bit seeing as how most of the streamers I see that use it get a really crisp image out of it. When it comes to Razer though, the support issues don't surprise me.

Maybe its just me but I thought all of the cameras (except for the insta360) had a ton of compression and ISO artifacting going on in their picture. The insta360 looked by far the closest to an actual DSLR camera to my eye.

I've been using the Razer Kyo Pro for over a year, maybe a little more and I haven't had many if any issues. I've been able to connect to both streamlabs and obs just fine. But I might just be really lucky.

It's strange. My Razer Kiyo Pro camera started working in my OS Manjaro Linux out of the box without any problems. And the OBS recognized it too. It works with the V4L (video for Linux) software and you can adjust all settings you need there. Issues with drivers in Linux can be worse than in Windows but not in this case. Also, my background (wall) is right behind my chair. So the optical distortion is small and you can take advantage of the wide-angle camera.

I think you got it backwards, streamers have become accustom to low movement do to camera restriction. Having a tracking camera frees you from the shackles of sitting or standing still, moving/carrying your camera or needing a camera operator. Having a narrow fov allows you to move further away and still be tight in frame and still have that zoom available use.

I love how my Avermedia pw513 works and looks with how I use it. Before when i was using a 5 year old "gaming" laptop, I couldn't even use it because of everything I had plugged in and the laptop couldn't handle it. Now that I can use it as a second camera angle with Nvidia broadcast, I can green screen myself opening trading cards without breaking my neck looking at my fixed main cam.

Funny enough, the Razer Kiyo Pro is my favorite. I wanted to buy an Elgato Facecam on Primeday. Since the Kiyo Pro was on a huge sale here, I bought both. I tinkered with both (and my old c920) and showed the images to my family (without telling them which is which). All said Kiyo Pro is the best. Also, I thought I have the same problem with the cam not showing up under OBS, but I was just named something generic and not "Kiyo Pro". The fisheye is only visible on the widest setting in Synapse, which I don't use. The amazing parts of this cam is the autofocus (I sometimes show 3d printed stuff and this is amazing for that) and the HDR mode. I wanted a 60 fps cam, but now I'm using it again as 30 fps with HDR on. The only thing that bothers me is, that you have to deactivate the cam in OBS to play with the settings in synapse. On the other hand, you usually don't do that often, since most of the settings are controlled with the normal webcam settings, you can access with OBS itself (I think they mention this as a feature - I don't really think it is one, but it's ok I guess).

The software for the Facecam is the single best thing about the camera. The ability to independently modify the iso, aperture and white balance enables you to get the best possible picture under any setting.

Agreed about the razer cam I have the one with a ring light and I had too many issues with it so got a 920c logic tech work 10 times better I don't have the issue of need to adjust the colors every time I open obs

It's not a gimbal. It doesn't do balance like a gimbal. The term is PTZ. As in Pan, Tilt, Zoom. It's not a full PTZ, because it's digital Zoom, and not optical. There are lots of PTZ webcams, they're usually used in more professional situations, like a business video conferencing room. Or stream an event, where one person can man 4 cameras from one spot. An example of a full PTZ, might be the Logitech Rally it a 4k PTZ. Iit has a Pan ±90° , Tilt: +50° / -90°, 15X optical zoom. It also has AI face tracking and Remote. But it's 1,400 USD. There is a TONGVEO 4K for like 270 USD.

I knew my poor Kio is the worst :D Hah. It was a pain to set up for sure, but it works well since. The synapse choice of view angle helps a lot to decide what look you want. I managed so set the quality and colors pretty nice. Cannot complain much.

Mine is a stable 60. Try to get an older USB 2 extension or a USB 2 on your pc. It is a bit rubbish. But I got it half price too on black friday :D I think something got messed up with protocols and it is only reliable on the usb 2 setup for me.

I'm in a more niche predicament: I do crafting on Twitch and I have my webcam mounted on a mechanical arm that I sometimes move around. I bought the Elgato Facecam and it works okay as a craft cam but it's too bulky and the autofocus isn't great. I bought the stream cam but the auto switch from portrait to landscape triggers when I move the webcam arm. Can you recommend a good craft cam with decent zoom, autofocus, that's not extremely bulky?

The elgato facecam is beautiful, but it's sadly giving me technical issues and I even changed the usb as usually the usb that comes with the camera is doesn't work. It disconnects ocasionally, causes my other usbs to also disconnect at times. But I'm seeing everyone else praise the software while it's software is giving me issues. Anyone got solutions for this?

Ya know.... I used to love Razer. I had a Huntsman keyboard, two of the Lian Li cases, orbweaver, game capture etc....but as time has gone on...the quality has decreased. RGB LEDs started failing, software glitches, hand rest glue seeped. I'm done with the company. I'll stick with ASUS and Elgato where I can. Even though they have eccentricities, they all work as advertised.

You Don't test the HDR and don't test the low light performance, disagree at all with this one. I used this webcam for a year at it worked like a champ and now a friend is super happy because is a new streamer and I gave him the Kiyo Pro and the quality blows his mind.

I ended up getting a onn 1440 p webcam with 30 fps and I didn’t know it was 30 fps till I got home and saw that it made me look like I moved slow and it looked choppy but people are telling me that the Logitech pro stream one is good but I check and even that one says 30 fps PLEASE HELP!!!
