The Dreamcast is such an underrated and over looked console which really depresses me. I first got the system when I was 4 years old along with Sonic Adventure, my first and favorite video game of all time. The Dreamcast made me the big gamer that I am today. I remember when I was just a little kid getting up in the middle of the night when my parents went to bed just to continue my adventure (pun intended) with the Dreamcast. The games I remember having for the console are Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Dino Crisis and Crazy Taxi. And I think I might have had NBA 2K. Ugh, the Dreamcast was such a fantastic console. I really wish I still had the gem of a system. If it wasn't for the Dreamcast, I probably wouldn't be as big of a gamer as I was now. I love the system to death. THE DREAMCAST WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!!!

Glad to see you got to play Headhunter! Being in Ireland, I could pick this up easily but always wondered if any of my favourite US / Canadian based channels (CGR, AlphaOS and HCG) had ever even heard of it. I personally regard this as one of my favourite games on the Dreamcast. Graphically, I think the game looks excellent (especially using VGA). The music is first class, so much so that I even bought the soundtrack. I personally felt the story was solid, if a little predictable. I agree that none of the sections are perfect but I still always have a hell of a lot of fun playing through the game. The voice acting and script are excellent, too. The developers had much bigger plans for this game - including online elements - but had to rush it out for release as the Dreamcast started to near its end before the game was finished. This shows in several areas (especially the motorbike sections where, I believe, the developers wanted to create a living town to drive around in). It's unfortunate but the game is still great. You should check out its sequel Headhunter Redemption on PS2 and XBox. One of the more underrated action adventure games of that era.

I just want to add that Evolution Worlds for the Gamecube does not include both Evolution 1 and Evolution 2. Evolution 1 is trimmed down into almost a tutorial and has almost all of the dungeons removed. Quite a few NPC have been removed and you cannot explore the bar, Mag's motorhome or the Society. Evolution 2 is intact, and there is full voice acting for the entire game, but I think the Dreamcast games are a better option for anyone wanting to play the first game as it was intended.

It's cool to have the 1st 2 versions of SF3 as there are people who prefer them (more specifically 2nd Impact) over Third Strike.

MvC2 - best game for it, and THE must have. Got my disc in perfect condition from a college surplus store for 11 bucks a little over a year ago. Best game purchase of my life. You can also get SF 3 on the Anniversary collection for the PS2. From what I can tell, it's a decent port and will only cost you 10 bucks versus the 50 you'll pay for the DC versions. Had a chance to pick up Plasma Sword and SF 3 third strike in a shop for a good deal but passed to get SF Alpha 2 for the Saturn and MvC 1 for the DC, wish I would've splurged and got all of them in hindsight. I agree, if you like fighting games then the DC is second only to the Saturn when it comes to great arcade fighter ports. The SNK games for it tend to be pretty underrated and other than Mark of the Wolves, they tend to cost less than the Capcom games. It has the best of the KoF games ported to it, and if you like SF 3, you'll probably love SNK's equivalent, MotW (some would even make the argument it's superior). Got the first Evolution from a pawnshop for pretty cheap and complete, really underrated JRPG, glad I picked it up instead of passing because I thought it looked kinda like a kid game. Just picked up Shenmue a couple days ago, I'm looking forward to playing it since I've heard it's very similar to the Yakuza games I like from Sega. I've heard Grandia 2 is amazing, almost got it complete for cheap from a local shop but didn't have the money on me at the time. Got back to the shop a few days later, still kicking myself for letting that slip through my fingers. So yeah, DC is an awesome console, my personal favorite. And if you pay attention and take all the opportunities you can to look for games, you can still find some excellent deals out there.

Have really been beefing up my Dreamcast collection since I now have played and owned just about every Saturn game that I want, the Dreamcast was the next logical step. So many fucking amazing games, I would say the Dreamcast easily has the most innovative line up of games ever seen on a home console, you had truly groundbreaking stuff like Shenmue which really created the open world 3D genre (sorry GTA fans) and introduced Quick Time Events to gaming as well, Rez which is arguably THE game to point to when people tell you video games aren't art, Typing of the Dead which took HOTD 2 and turned it into the single greatest piece of edutainment the world has ever seen, Jet Set Radio which is still what I consider to be the most stylish video game of all time, even Nintendo copied it's aesthetic with splatoon, Cosmic Smash which was like Pong mixed with Tron and the previously mentioned Rez, Samba De Amigo which was basically the first peripheral based rhythm game and predates guitar hero by about 7 years, Seaman where you raise a virtual frog man voiced by Leonard Nemoy and a slew of other brilliant games which are too numerous to mention. The Dreamcast was also the last system of the arcade era, and finally the home hardware had caught up with what arcades were offering at the time, no frames of animation were cut, no levels were missing, in fact many of the ports greatly expanded upon their arcade counterparts like Soul Calibur, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Power Stone 2.
