Mario Party 2, the AI is programmed to go for a particular item depending on who the CPU is. DK always goes for Bowser bomb for example. I don't remember if AI difficulty affects this, between how often they fail to get an item or get a random other item instead.

Here's how hidden blocks work in Mario Party 2: there are two hidden blocks active at all times on a random blue space, one containing a star and one containing coins. When you find a hidden block, that particular block type shuffles to a new blue space while the other stays where it is until found. Since Mystery Land is such a small board, the probability of landing on a hidden block is much higher. Hidden blocks work the same in Mario Party 3, but there are now three hidden blocks, with the third one containing a random item.

Okay, I was watching this to fall asleep last night, and Jo said something along the lines of "I thought 2022 was going to be my year but maybe Mario Part 2 is going to be my year," and then my brain created a conspiracy that actually all of these videos were filmed in 2022 and set to be strategically released every day across 2023 to make people think that they were being made in real time. Then I remembered it was Jacob, so, that's like a 60-40 chance that it's actually happening. He loves to gaslight both the people around him and his audience, but would he have the patience to do something like that?
