You should react to the live version in the studio of the song from triple J channel!!!! All their stuff is live only thing that they add in mixing is very minimum.

I don't know why but the drums remind me of Faint by Linkin Park, or something from Pendulumn. They've also done this live on Triple J, which I think will give you the live sounds you were looking for.
