I’ve owned my A110 Premiere Edition for four years and I love it! Originally, I went to a dealer just to see one in the flesh. Fell in love with it’s looks immediately and how small it is. I was talked into a test drive and within a quarter of a mile, I’d decided that I didn’t want a Cayman, 911, Lotus or… anything else, for that matter! I had one on my drive within two months. In that time, I’ve done over 18,000 miles. I’ve fitted some Life110 mods (geo, springs, paddles, hoses and a performance air filter) and I’ve gone to the A110S size tyres. Minor mods that have made the best even better! My car now sits somewhere between standard and S spec, in terms of ride quality and roll (I found the S just a bit too firm for day to day driving). I find it extremely comfortable, practical, exciting, easy to use and economical all at once. I genuinely don’t know what I’d ever replace it with? And I’m so bored with the “If only it was a manual… etc”. Drive one and see how the dual clutch suits it. I wouldn’t have the manual even if it were available, and I’ve had some decent, manual sports cars. The A110 blows them all away! 🇫🇷

Had my A110S since new last Sept, tweaked a little with an engine and transmission remap, Life110 air filter Life110 AST coilovers, Life110 geometry, titanium tie-rod ends, Life110 gearshift paddles, titanium wheel bolts, EVO Corse Cup wheels. Lotus owners "get" it, Porsche owners are just baffled that I did not choose a Porsche. Not regretted buying it and will be a very long term keeper, a brilliant car for the Welsh roads where I do a lot of my driving. The changes I have made are very much to personal taste, although the Life110 geo, gearshift paddles and air filter are fantastic changes that all A110 owners should invest in Love the Alpine heritage and the fact its not the default Lotus / Porsche choice. Two little errors - the rear screen lifts up after undoing some knurled screws in the boot area and the engine cover then lifts out after undoing the quick release clips. The GT also has the same 300hp engine as the S and R, only the base A110 has the 252hp unit

@@eugenux - very strange statement. Are you the kind of person that also things like servo assisted brakes and fuel injection make cars less of a "real drivers car". Steering in air is a challenge... Yes. Bought it. Compared e.g. to 11 years Elise S1 you do not mess around with high sills, rattling, etc. It is a mature car. So far no quality issues. Useful and fun? Yes! My wife and I travelled for a 5 days South-Tirol- holiday with hiking boots, backpack, etc. There is enough space for luggage. Ok - maybe put the jackets behind the seat. Enjoy travelling and alpine passes and leave the seat with a big smile. The ratio of low fuel consumption (weight) to fun is amazing. Best car I did own so far. I have to think about a severe investment: an Alpine cap like yours.... BR FROM A SWABIAN😎

Ive had my A110S for circa two and half months, it was dealer stock so came with the CUP2s option, uprated focal stereo and the Alcantara dash / steering wheel etc. It was in the traditional Alpine Blue colour. The bucket seats are suprisingly comfortable, the cornering ability (certainly in the dry) is like glue, you can do serious miles and feel relaxed then enjoy a challenging B road and I do like the noise of the little 4 pot. Looks are incredibly subjective, I like it and it does draw some serious attention which can be fun at times. Weaknesses, door plastics are on the cheap side, dealers are a real 'hit and miss' with some on point and others just terrible which grates when paying Porsche prices, cooling fans love to hum away for a good while after engine switch off (not a real issue) and the black surrounds of the wing mirrors really are cheap and nasty looking. Overall I love it! You asked what drew me to it, I had a new G series M2 on deposit and ready to collect when I saw an A110 advert and as the nearest dealer was only 40 mins away I went for a test drive (a few hours unaccompanied) and the M2 order was cancelled!

Terrific review, and I couldn’t agree more with your comments and sentiments about the car. I bought my A110 in April, a base model and I’m absolutely delighted with it. I love the fact it’s a mid-engined all aluminium sports car. I love the fact it has just enough of everything and not too much of anything. I love the steering, it’s fabulous and the seat comfort. I love the handling balance, the ride comfort and the performance. And I love how it looks. I’ve driven many cars over the years but it drives better than anything I can think of. Why not a Cayman? Because I love the exclusivity of the Alpine, only real enthusiasts know what it is. Just so you know, you can open the rear window! There are 3 knurled bolts under the forward edge of the boot, undo them and the rear window can be lifted. It’s held open with a little prop. And a final fact. Why are there 2 gas struts on the front boot lid when a prop would have been lighter? Because the engineers were worried the lid would distort when propped and if they’d re-engineered it with more strength, that would have weighed more than the 2 gas struts! Subscribed!

I fell in love with the original A110 when I first saw one and lusted after one from that day. When the new A110 was released and I saw the reviews my mind was made up. I’ll be keeping this car until I can no longer drive. Great review but you omitted to mention the MPG of around 40 which is phenomenal for a sports car. First of all congratulations for the channel. Beautiful and full of content. I am writing to you from Italy. What can I say about the A110, you really said it all. Exceptional car exactly for the characteristics you described. And even comparing it to supercars with more horsepower was a stroke of genius and not as crazy as it might seem. By quoting Murray you hit the nail on the head. If he says so, who bought it and made it the benchmark to develop his new $2.6 million T.50 supercar, who are we? I have been the owner of an orange sanguine A110 S since 2021 but last November I purchased the A110 R which I am waiting for (we are almost there I think). I wanted to take this step for an infinite series of reasons. I got it in a unique variant, with Pikes Peak livery. I wanted the R because it is not just a harmless letter of the alphabet, but the goal of technological and aerodynamic extremes. Because it exudes the essence of car racing and track competitions. It represents the pinnacle of performance and sporting aggression. Because at the basis of the R, there is a studied aerodynamics, based on a perfect balance: on the one hand, the increase in aerodynamic efficiency, on the other, the minimization of air resistance. Regards and see you soon👈

The problem is, ppl will make excuses all the time because they want the easy way; automatics of every type, in sports cars, are just excuses for ppl who can't or don't want to drive..ppl who brought their sports cars just for show and are not and will never be actually interested in driving, actual driving and the experience that actual driving brings into one's life. edit./p.s. if you are a driver, you are mashing your own gears; if you are a pretender, sure, go with the automatic route.
