Just doesn't work when you replace a star you are use to playing a certain part & then someone else is put in there, just leaves a gap & it's never the same or as good. 🙁

As people have already said, the show is based on the books (loosely based on them but still), and in the books Triss doesn't play a big role. She is a minor character in the books and has an unhealthy obsession with Geralt. Book and canon Geralt never had feelings for Triss. Yennefer's his only love from start to finish. Only in the games that are non-canon sequels to the books CDPR make Triss one of the main characters.

Lol even "loosely based" is extremely generous.

Geralt and Triss were never together in the original books either, they were only ever just friends in the books, this whole Geralt & Triss relationship only happened exclusively in the games, so it's understandable that the show is ignoring the whole Geralt & Triss relationship from the games. Also even though Triss is 1 of the main characters in the games, her role was very small in the books, so that's another reason why Triss' character is sort of sidelined in the show, she never really had a big role and she was more of a side character in the books. The show is based on the books not the games.

Ditto what others said about Triss' role in the books. She's minor so her not in a lot for this series that is more or less based on the books is par for the course. But also to add, in the books Triss is cowardly and manipulative. VERY different from her character in the W3 game. By then she has evolved, grown a fair amount and far more likable and confidant in herself. Seems you are attached to the version of Triss from the games, if she was to be lore correct in this series/book time period you'd like her far less.

I think you are going to need to read the books to fully understand. Especially if you are going to be critiquing because a lot of what you are saying is just off.

I'm a big fan of the books, though I haven't read them all...yet. I've read the first five...and loved them. I'm not a gamer, so I don't have any experience that way, though I know a LOT of people who do...and I've watched some play throughs. I enjoyed Season 1, though it wasn't perfect. I bought into the time differences...and how the showrunner decided to reveal the story in that way. I was glad that Henry Cavill (who came to this franchise from the games) got behind the source material and became the champion for the source material (bumping heads with the showrunner and the writers) and felt that it was good to have him on OUR side. Season 2 was a mess. Loved Henry as Geralt, but the decisions by the showrunner and the writers (who were ACTIVELY going against the source material) made me mad. Love that Henry was still trying to "right the ship" and champion the source material during the shooting, but essentially being told to "shut up". The idea of Season 3 doesn't excite me, though my wife and I will watch the season, but ONLY for Henry Cavill. I do NOT think we will watch Season 4. By that time, it will not really be The Witcher. It is sad to hear/see The Witcher going down this path. It had to be hard for Henry Cavill to see such a great part, being bastardized by the showrunner and the writers...to the point that he "dipped out". I do NOT think that the show will last past Season 4, and we may not even get a Season 4...if the numbers for Season 3 are bad. We shall see. Oh, well. Just wish they had just stuck to the source material. There is/was SO much to mine...that it could've been amazing...for YEARS. Ugh. Thanks for the reaction. Talk to you, later.

I will only watch it until Henry leaves. The Witcher is in my opinion done at the end of season 3. Shame isn't it.

It is all Henry's fault!! When you have creative diferences and want something to succeed you don't leave, you stay and pressure everyone to make everything right, but no, DC dangled him some million dollars and he left without a second thought!!!! Don't forget Henry Cavil chose to leave. He was not removed from the show. I will wish him in it but will continue to watch. Fact's he chose to leave when he thought he was gonna be superman 😅 Netflix hae multiple movies with him and a Sherlock Holmes spin off he burned every bridge with Netflix because he thought he was gonna get the cape but James Gunn had other plans

It's coming out at the end of the month. I doubt the CG is going to improve THAT much. It doesn't have 'House of the Dragon' or 'Rings of Power' money, I'm afraid.

I'll still give the show a shot. I like Henry as Geralt but he's not at the level of being the ONLY actor that can play the role to me. He's enjoyable, but just fine to good. Certainly not career-defining like a Hugh Jackman or an RDJ.

Thanedd Thanedd Thanedd Triss does not have a huge role in the books but she is a chess piece for what's to come. Henry Cavill as Geralt was always fine to me. He was always too big for the role and he's always seemed wooden. Liam Hemsworth looks more like Geralt in the game but I'm not familiar with his acting so I have more to be curious about.

I'm not watching Season 3. He left because of what they did to the show. S3 is what went too far. The showrunner and writers ACTIVE disgust of the source material and blatant uses the IP to write their stories while bad mouthing the source material and berating those who care about. It's Toxic, abusive, and borderline plagiaristic. Hissrich is a toxic gaslighting liar with no respect for the fans, the source material and in truth Netflix who counted on this to be a long running hit. I refused to even watch the trailer. I don't agree with even "giving it a shot". I don't want to give the show any spotlight. period. They don't care if its garbage as long as you're watching it. So DON'T watch it! There is so much other stuff to watch instead. Don't give them ANY attention.

Why he left is - as yet - still all speculation. We need to hear the reason from his own mouth, or, from other actors on the show. I think your reasoning is probably right but we just don't know for sure, yet.
