@@alel1234 I don’t feel like you can confidently say that until we get new artifact sets for natlan, even as is she enables a lot of new team comps for me and her versatility is super valuable. Furina changes a lot of the meta in many ways due to her buff and marchussy. Mavuika’s burst already serves as a decent buff if built for support, her ability to use scroll already make her kinda interesting on that front, but we won’t really know her true potential until the end of Natlan

It's not about her being underrated.. it's about having lower priority than expected since the game is already full of pyro units capable of achieving slightly worse or similar results.. and she doesn't really change or bring anything new like other archons.. The difficulty of this game does not seem to justify the investment required

@@vincesetnuef492 she does support but it is only limited to Natlan characters. Probably this is their way of adding something new to the pyro element. Basically they can't add anything new to the mechanics of pyro because it is overly saturated so they just made the Nightsoul mechanics. People got a bit angry because they thought she would work a bit better outside of those teams but... nope. They also probably don't want another game breaking character at c0 since that would not encourage whaling on her c6.

It was a combination of factors that made a lot of people turn away from Mauvika. 1. She doesn’t offer anything unique to the table, she’s literally Pyro Claymore DPS #5 and the one unique aspect she does have is a restrictive factor on her team building (Fighting Spirit req other Natlan characters). 2. Everyone was expecting her Claymore attack animations to be a main part of her kit especially after the Capitano fight but her burst mainly centers on her really whacky bike attack animations. 3. She does very little to change the stale 4 YEAR LONG pyro support/sub-DPS meta of Bennett + Xiangling despite being an ARCHON. Her off-field dmg is good but it’s more akin to Dehya and Thoma application rates so most Melt or Ayato/Tartaglia Vape teams will still use Xiangling and because Mavuika’s team DMG amp is on her burst she has more restrictive team requirements than the other options on top of this. So at that point it’s actually just better to play her as a hypercarry since it requires so much to run her in a team regardless of what role you slot her in. Overall Mavuika is a combination of really off-putting aesthetics and disappointingly doing nothing to really shake up the game despite being an archon.

@@artik5552 I was so interested in Chasca when I saw her western cowgirl aesthetic. I thought she was gonna have a revolver as her main attack method. Turns out she does have a six shooter, in the form of a GODDAMN HOVERCRAFT. Immediately lost all interest in her it was just too over the top, even for Genshin. People don’t have much complaints for Mualani, Kachina, Kinich, and Xilonen because their elemental skills still feel grounded and not ridiculously over the top since their attack animations are separate from the traversal functionality or are done in a way that seems natural to the game’s universe. It’s one thing to swing around on a rope attached to an enemy shooting projectiles, or to do kick attacks while rollerblading, but it’s a whole other thing to do donuts on a motorcycle as a main attack method or to fire elemental bullets out of a damn hovercraft. Like it just feels too whacky and it completely destroyed people’s expectations of the characters in a really bad way. Luckily Citlali is more like the former Natlan units which is why she’s much more well received than Mauvika and Chasca.

@@mika086 The issue is that Mavuika isn’t a bad character like launch Zhongli was. She’s just a disappointingly stale, but very strong Pyro main DPS making it now a full DOZEN in that category. So because of that there is no justifiable reason for CN community to outrage for a rework. At this point we’re stuck with Bennett + Xiangling for the rest of the game’s lifecycle unless you go out of your way to pull for Natlan support units to utilize Mavuika and make her more versatile. Which tbh seems to be Mihoyo’s plan for enticing players to pull for Natlan units: “Want a more varied Pyro off-field unit? Pull every single Natlan support to get the same versatility you had with your collection of older units, just so that you can make Mavuika fully functional. If you don’t, then have fun using Bennett + Xiangling till Genshin’s end of service.” 🤷‍♂️

Its actually just better to build her with Obsidian Codex since she really wants Natlan characters on her team anyway (except Kinich, tho the scrolls set has issues with burning). Being able to provide off-field dps while also functioning as a dual dps helps increase the flexibility of her teams, for example mualani against hydro immune enemies She's literally Arlecchino/Xiangling in one character with more qol but greater reliance on Natlan characters

What I see about connection between Kinich and Mavuika is Mavuika can be a support for Kinich with scroll arte. I know its not the best team or usage of Mavuika, but that the only connection between them right now. Until hoyo release another pyro Natlan unit, Mavuika will be the best support for Kinich.

I’m hoping we see some interesting artifacts that further emphasize her existing versatility, I don’t really get why people are so miffed about her needing natlan characters when there are both, a lot on the way, and it’s not unusual for characters to be reliant on a few units that are virtually required for them to be good. I do think scroll has value if you struggle getting double crystalize consistently on Xilonen and it’d free her up for Petra but ultimately depends on your teams, for example I have some goofy nobelesse ideas I’m looking forward to trying out

Nobody is underestimating her damage, but damage is not the bar you want to exclusively be clearing in a gacha where powercreep will eventually kick in and has been more prominent lately. Being tied to Natlan characters to operate at peak performance also impacts her future viability. Being effectively tied to two supports who might be better used on other teams further drags her down; especially considering supports tend to be more future-proof than damage dealers. That most of her power is locked behind her on-field performance puts her in competition with Arle, and you have to ask yourself if the damage upgrade - to the extent that it exists (especially if Kachina is your only other Natlan character) - is worth the pulls and grind to get her up to speed when those resources could be put toward another character that might be more beneficial for your account (e.g. if you skipped Xilo for Mav, I'd probably be reconsidering and putting those savings toward a C2R1 Xilo on her rerun instead.) Most players will still pull for her because they treat archons and harbingers as pokemon, but if all she's bringing is damage, she's an easy pass for me. The game isn't hard enough to necessitate tippy-top damage, and she isn't really enabling new teams/interactions or consolidating roles, which makes her a bit bland. She's also yet another character fighting for the favor of the true pyro archon, Benito. Yay.

@@Best_grass Who's an Arle main? I don't even have her on my account; I was on hiatus for almost all of Fontaine and only came back in time to grab Navia, Furina, and Emilie. That said, also probably not pulling for her this go around because Citlali's right there and is a more interesting character. Mavuika's support capabilities are tied to how much fighting spirit you're able to build up between bursts. By herself, the results aren't going to be particularly impressive, and even then only for the on-fielder (and it decays rather than ramps, so she has to be right before your on-fielder for maximum value, which can cost them time with other buffs). Cinder City is hard to justify when she's begging for another Natlaner, and the worthwhile ones wear it better. Again, nobody is saying she's going to be bad, but she is very boring mechanically, and the only noteworthy thing she brings to the table is the first thing that gets powercrept, and the game isn't hard enough to necessitate that kind of damage anyway.

started an alt account the DAY the first Natlan Ignation trailer dropped to hoard everything for Mavuika, up to 500 pulls, only limited 5* I got was Yelan, got my fully leveled Cinder City Kachina and Bennett ready, all her materials, if I get unlucky and lose a few 50/50s and only get to C3-4 i’ll get Citlali, i’ve never been so ready for a character since Navia made me start this game

@@exploreevery I played pretty much every day like an hour or two like I do with my main acct some weekends I’ll go for a few hours when I have time, I only pulled for a few 4 stars like Sucrose Fischl Xinque and Kuki, I pretty much speed ran the archon quests cleaned out every event and got as close to 100% as i could in each area, I did get a welkin and bp each patch but even without them i’d be pretty satisfied with the amount

Like if we don't fight a Gundam "god", mecha dragons, mecha dogs, mecha fish, mecha dancers, we have ppl with rocket backpacks, a girl riding a giant gun, a girl surfing on lava on a toy shark, a dude spidermaning through the air with his computer wristband and 8bit dragon We have alchemy, magic, engineering, scientists using ''concepts'' as solid objects, a country having eletricity and running their society on "judge power", an internet with Wifi, Alhaitham’s bluetooth headphones, eldritch abyss monsters, a fake sky, like 7 ancient super cultures that were wiped out, angels, demons, gods, reincarnation, aliens, curses, death is an actual being, sentient ships, talking animals, cyborgs, clones, cults, ghosts, guns, dream hopping, firework transformation, a tree that stores the memory of the world, the greeks, sea fairies, parallel human vishap evolution, world ending prophecies and not to mention what Teyvat most likely actually is which was hinted at in the world quest in Natlan... We have about everything possible fantasy wise... But a bike! A motorized vehicle is the object of resistance for some reason even tho the game mentions that Xilonen can craft all kinds of stuff like Kachina’s drill and Chasca’s gun, that Natlan’s leylines were cut from the rest of Teyvat and that Phlogiston is a very powerful resource that even Natlan people don’t fully understand Even tho we also already saw a ton of different vehicles in events and main history, from automatic chariots to floating carts to motorized bicycles and Xiyanun with her popcorn machine and her own bike If people don’t like the bike, that’s their personal opinion and that’s fair enough but saying it is "immersion breaking" is just nonsense The worst thing about Mavuika is that she is another on field pyro dps, yes she is the strongest one but i have C2R1 Arle and C1R1 Tao, i have more pyro than i need And i don’t need a XL replacement because i don’t use XL in the first place That sucks because i really like Mavuika but Citlali might be a better pull for my C2 Chasca

The thing is Fontain is the most advanced nation already established in the game. Scara made that gundam using Gnosis. Natlan was marketted as nation of war with tribes, also the thing which makes so differeent is that the tech is integrated in all Fontain, the guards to teasure horders everyone uses them in their everyday life unlike Natlan. In Sheznaya bikes would make more sense than Natlan cause I heard that nation got rail road network. Not only Muavika but whole Natlan breaks immersion some does more so than others esp Chasca, others not so much. I think people would complain alot less if Chasca didn't had a flying gun or Muavika didn't had a flying bike and a biker jacket. Tbf Mualani did said that her surfboard can witstand lava for certain period of time

So far, we could see the consistency between the nations, characters and enemies. Sumeru had akasha system and was all related to wisdom and scholarship. Fontain is fully advanced as well, so more modernised character designs feel right to have. What we got with Natlan? Pokemons wandering around, primitive huts and stone arena, tribal markings, npcs using simple wepaons and legs to deliver messages and die in a war (idiots, why they dont all use flying guns or motorbikes?). To get to the most crucial points in the war we had to use the baloon slower than going on foot. And in this primitve, climatic world we get the rollerblades with DJ station, flying gun and motorbike. Chasca, taken care by the birds is so missed opportunity to give her some birds aestethic. Natlan is all about ressurection - why not give Archon something phoenix themed? Of course, people have their own opinions and they can like it or not, but don't blindly defend it, denying that the design of Natlan at all can't break an immersion for players - even characters during the cutscenes are portrayed as something completely different than they are during the gameplay - watch the epic duel between Capitano and Mavuika and imagine she was using there bike instead of blade xd

People would somehow like her more if she just didnt do onfield damage but her offfield stayed the same. They just cant handle their own DPS becoming suboptimal in any team that involves mavuika. Mavuika's kit seems to be a direct response to the furina complaints last year where she couldnt be used as an onfielder to enjoy her animations until c6 so instead they made mavuika both onfield and offfielder at the same time so you can pick and choose.

I had been skipping Neuvillette for far too long. I have shared a lot of my concerns about him. Now, that I pulled and built him to some extent (no god-like artifacts, not even the level of what I usually aim for) he helped me a lot in the current abyss. I do not imagine how I could clear it without him. E0, with the Ash-Graven Horn, thanks Hoyo for his great F2P weapon!

I've been waiting for the pyro archon since I realized I didn't want to play Wriothesley with bennet or XL. He's the best DPS on my account, beautiful stats, and I haven't even used him. Hearing that her slower application is good for him has me so relieved. I'm getting Clorinde on the second half, which means I'll have character on the "really excited to see" row of the support side. She's going to be so good to make my account fun.

No, she's very rated. She's an overpowered DPS, in the future there will be a more overpowered DPS. She's going to he very good until the Nightsoul addiction catches up with her, but ultimately every main DPS is skippable and she is no exception.

I haven't seen anyone talking about pairing Mavuika with Mona yet. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but it looks to me that they should play pretty well together. Mona's cooldown are short, she can pass ttds to Mavuika, her burst duration fits pretty well with Mavuika damage window and she can provide hydro for some vapes. It feels to me that it should be at least a sidegrade to Furina's team, specially considering that the bennet+xilonen teams doesn't have a full party healer, so you probably wouldn't have full fanfare stacks by the time you burst with Mavuika.

If you have Xilonen go for Mavuika else go for Arlechinno. But remember if you get Mavuika she will be exclusively tied to Xilonen. Arlechinno isn't tied to any unit for DMG. Damage wise Mavuika and Arlechinno have similar damage, with Mavuikas best team which includes Citlali, Xilonen and Bennett pulling ahead. Also Mavuika is a reaction DPS more so than Arlechinno, she benefits more from vapes and melts. All in all they are both future proof, choose whoever you like the best.

The swirls are always triggered by the anemo so you can instead use obsidian codex for more dmg

Here's my problem with Mauvuika's bike. 1. It's a hi-spec motorcycle in a world that doesn't even have bicycles. 2. It can not only run on land but probably vertically up cliffs, cross water like a jet ski and even fly. All great, maybe, if you're in Natlan but the moment you take it out of Natlan it'll run out of gas in about 10 seconds probably. But, Oh, if you get her C1(?) it'll run for a full 30 seconds(?) before running out of gas. So, let's say you want to take it between Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor which on a good day takes about 20 mins to traverse on foot. She gets on it for 30 seconds, then everyone in her team is going to have to push the darn thing for 30 seconds so that she can ride it for another 30 seconds. That's definitely going to be a "fun" trip...

I have 4 issues with Mavuika: 1) She doesn't have that wow factor for me personality/background wise. The 5.3 archon quest might change that, but in that case I can always reconsider. I'm gonna pull for Citlali because she does have that for me. 2) She's locked to Natlan characters, at least to a certain degree. Citlali and Xilonen are the prime candidates for her teams. Since I don't have Xilonen, Mavuika would have to go wherever Citlali goes. 3) I'm a Xiangling main and a Hu Tao enjoyer. Why would I be excited about a potential powercreep of both in the same character? Especially because Mavuika doesn't unlock new teams for me. The only thing I'd use Mavuika for is for Mualani's pyro application, and that's because it's so hard to get enough fav users on the team. 4) She's a simple pyro DPS, again! Can't the pyro element get any original 5 star ideas? At least she functions off-field and she can hold the scroll artifact set, but she'd be so much more interesting if she traded her on-field capabilities for buffs or a unique mechanic. Or if she could let others consume nightsoul points instead of asking for teammates who can already consume nightsoul. Overall, Mavuika looks like nothing more than a big number generator for me. She'll probably be good to amazing, but she'd be a 100% meta only pull for me at this point and I don't think I want/need to commit to her. Plus, her kit is quite easy to powercreep one niche at a time.

She isn't underrated, she just offers nothing we don't already have. So many people anticipated a replacement to Bennett and Xiangling so we don't have to play Circle Impact and build 300er, instead we got mild Arlecchino powercreep barely half a year after Arlecchino who was Hu Tao/Diluc/Yoimiya/Gaming/Yanfei powercreep. She fills a role that is already oversaturated, she doesn't enable new teams, nor does she improve existing ones in any way other than maybe doing a tad more damage. She's great if you need a pyro dps and/or didn't raise Xiangling but need something like her, but if you do have a pyro dps and raised Xiangling, and 99% chance that is the case, then Mavuika has 0 pull value. Why wouldn't you instead save for someone who actually expands what your account is capable of?

I think most people agree that she would be an improvement in basically every team. The issue is with how much of an improvement it is. Upgrading to a shiny new 5star for a 5% team damage increase is not exciting especially if you are not a dolphin who can get every character. I also think the main issue with Mavuika is that no matter how good she is as a sub-dps her perception will never truly be as one because her kit is at best a dual carry oriented one and at worst a true carry.

I would love for Mona to be a good dps without so much investments, or for Furina to be a dps without so much investments, but I can't because they aren't really built for that. Now seeing both these kits, I’m starting to feel Arlecchino’s kit is the odd one as it cannot enable anything off field. Coping with minimal application from the skill marks doesn’t count - even as an off-meta player I’d call off-field Arlecchino in its current state a wasted slot 😂 Arlecchino’s character portrayal was someone who generally works from the background, but can get things done by herself if needed. Based on the story and how Navia (who had a similar strategic role in the story) worked, I expected Arle to have the Pyro equivalent of Ayato’s kit (but still focused on actual damage and not driver application and bad damage like Ayato has).

I’m really hoping we get some interesting artifacts later in Natlan that make her support potential more in line with previous archons

I didn't consider that Mav on Neuv teams could be an upgrade. Thank you for that since that fact is enough to revive my want to pull for her, and now I may chase C2R1. I didn't want to have to bench Arle for her since they both want Bennett but with Mav over Kaz in Neuv Hyper, allows me to use both in abyss and I free up Kaz for Arle as an upgrade to her vape teams. Also means going for the weapon banner feels more efficient now since losing to Citlali's weapon won't be bad either since Citlali is great for both if/when I pull her down the line.

There's not much combat value (Mavuika can be an average sub-DPS to you if Chasca is your only Natlan character). Although since you just returned, you could stack Mavuika and Chasca to get exploration done even faster, if exploration is of value to you. Mavuika's vehicle (it's shaped like a motorcycle but it flies, drives up mountains, and works as a motorboat too) is the fastest thing in Natlan (and likely in the whole game) over the surface, and can be stacked with Chasca's gun which is the best flier even outside Natlan (beating out Wanderer and Xianyun in flight distance). Chasca's already strong in exploration on her own of course: farming enemies by holding down the button just about doubled how fast I can get materials from weak enemies.

This is where they royally screwed up. At c0 she is way too dependent on you pulling other Natlan characters. People who are just starting the game or just coming back wouldn't want her because she does not play well with most of your roster.

@@grantdavid2655 I see the C0 restriction as Hoyo taking a business risk, extending from where they were with Wriothesley, Neuvilette, Chiori, and Chasca with “create a problem, sell the solution” kits. They are being more aggressive with this one, though. If one person is convinced to become a whale for two patches (say $USD 600) due to C1 Mavuika, that’s still more to the bottom line than over 10 Welkin players and 100 F2Pers quitting from now to version 6.0. This is also the Chinese New Year update, so people could do the whaling as a present. They then hope to get the people who ragequit back with promotions for version 6.0 or by an awesome Skirk trailer later this year. It would only be a problem to Hoyo as a business long term if they do this so much that the game becomes a whales only club (like the Star Trek Online MMORPG that last time I checked, the developer is basically kept open only due to 1000 whales who are squishing the churn of F2P).

My main problem is that is mainly a pyro on field dps, yes, she can be an off-field dps as well but it kinda needs her C1 to truly fulfill that role. Considering that I have already Gaming C6 and Father I dont see the appealing of another pyro dps. In contrast, if Citlali ends up 'freeing' a Furina in some key teams it may have better pull-value for me that Mavuika. Also, I hate the bike-centered gameplay. I may ended up going for the weapon since is a good claymore but nothing more.

the problem is she is an archon with less pull value of another character in the same period as xilonen, much more less versatility of any other archon, poor tem buff and she need al least one 1 of 2 limited characters to work properly ( one of them is a cryo so 1 run and see you citlali in 450 days) and on top of that she is primarly a DPS when all 5* pyro are DPS. Genshin comunity want bennet and xianling replament and she barely replace xianling , she will be good for some patch but if you haven't pull xilonen and you don't want or you can't pick also Citlai she will struggule. Furina as the limitation of having a good healer in the team but healer are from every nation and every rarity not a limited pull of limited 5* also furina do basically everithing. Neuvilette and Arle are strong because they are versitile and easy to use with a lot of team comp with basically no restiction. this will be the first time since raiden that i don't buy c2 + weapon for the Archon in the first banner, Mavuika's C2 will be good for Navia but C2 Citlali seems better for Arle. Sorry Mauvika I like you, maybe more the other archon, but in game you have a terrible value for my account and i prefer Navia, Arle or Shirk so i can't use you as main DPS

For me part of the fun in Genshin is doing your research and saving your primos for the occasional busted and future proof character that's good in any team. The Bond of Life gimmick was an immediate red flag for me not to pull for Arlecchino. It's the same with characters that need special conditions like HuTao where she needs to be at less than half HP, and then you have to keep he alive by balancing healing not too much and a shield...nope. Or Childe where if you mess up your rotation he's useless.

Im not an addict, I pull like 2 rated banner characters per nation, only if I like them, I don't have Furina for example, never liked her, never needed her. I have múltiple Arlecchino teams, I can play her hypercarry with Zhongli/Kaz/Benny, hyper with Dehya/kaz/Benny, vaporize with XQ or Yelan/Benny/kaz, vaporize with C6 Candace, Benny, kaz. Vaporize with substituting kaz with ToDS sucrose. Overload with chev/millelith Dehya/Fischl or beidou, overload chev/double electro. I got Vaporize double hydro with either XQ/Yelan, Mona, and any buffer. Double pyro double Geo, double Geo can be either Zhong/Xilo/albedo. Melt with C6 Kaeya/rosario/any buffer or same as vaporize team but substitute hydro with C6 Kaeya. From all those teams, Mavuika can play all of them, but also she can use Natlan units and not make them feel like a wasted slot like Kachina when double Geo is required or Ororon in overload team, both can hold cinder city set. I sweep abyss with Arle overload and use hypercarry on Wriothesley, I can easily just use hyper on Mav and continue overload on Arle or viceversa. Hell, I do duo runs sometimes solo runs on Arle cause she is that cracked. You gotta be more creative, you think Arle only has one good team, it seems you are not good at crafting teams.

Let me add my two cents on your dilemma, Mavuika Burst alone does similar damage to most other DPSes, few excluded. So you should always use her on Obsidian and try to vape or melt her burst, and enjoy big PP DMG.

Well the innitial can melt but not the rest, so you are kinda better of using something like a Charlotte as she gets a ttds on top. As for dmg, if you build enough er for ganyu to burst off cooldown with minimal field time, she is doing basically negligible dmg anyway.

@@szx_shadow4509 well the only other cryo catalyst is citlali who is also Going to be a part of Mavuikas best team...sooo....yeah You can technically do stuff with kaeya, rosaria and c6 diona , bonus points if you can get them on instructors set.... There is always the option of Going vape instead of melt by using a furina or Mona Obviously furina is going to be overall significantly better but mona can give you a larger innitial hit in places where its relevant.

At c0 if both have their BIS team, Mav deals more damage by like... 10% but Arle's team is more f2p friendly than Mav's.

To be honest, I haven't been too crazy about most of the Natlan characters so far, with all of them having some sort of riding "gimmick" (drill/surfboard/grappling hook/gun/motorcycle/plushie). I've only pulled for Xilonen, due to her overall ease of use, and she's still able to use her E-skill fairly well for "exploration", even outside of the Natlan region.

I just find it so funny how whenever people don't like something like Chasca's design, or how modern Natlan is, or how Mav uses a bike to fight. These individuals just HAVE to make their voices heard. My 2 issues with her is that you NEED Natlan characters in her team and I have none because I was hoarding primos for her and second issue is the weird motorcycle fights. It makes sense to have the bike for exploration but hitting the bad guys with it? That is just silly. So, pretty sure I will go for father.

I know most people aren't sold on the motorbike, but Teyvat's sky is literally artificial, so it doesn't bother me that much. Also, the Mikage Furnace was designed by Fontaine engineers, and the Wisdom Orb is a Fontaine-designed piece of equipment. So there's no real reason why a phlogiston powered bike wouldn't be possible, imho. To me, Teyvat is a world that blends magic and engineering, and that's still dope.

For Itto Mavu should definitely be a considerable upgrade over Yelan as you only get like half of Yelan procs anyway while Mavu works just fine and even can get random vapes and you already have Xilonen in the team by default. I also don't see why Wanderer wouldn't work with Mavuika? He does more than enough NAs to allow Mavu to burst off CD. I'm fairly confident that she will be very close to Furina (possibly even better in practice thanks to AoE and no HP management) as the 4th in Wanderer, Faruzan, Bennet team. And it's possible that there are other interesting team variations that take advantage of swirling for AoE reactions or something.
