I’m planning to make this one of my first steelhead trips for the year. Looking for more spots where you can walk between holes. The Wilson is great but loading and unloading the car is ridiculous 😂

My fathers father came to Oregon and raised my dad just south of Alsea, dad was born in Cottage Grove 36, I was born in Albany in 65. I spent pertnear every weekend until 1990 in and around Alsea, breaks my heart a little bit to see how things have changed. I am not going to bitch about it, that would be tilting the windmill. Just saying, things were much better pre-internet. In the past you were either local, had family that was local or friends that were local, or learned to behave like you were local.

Thank u for the videos!!! I feel the opposite! It doesn't matter where u go these days, its going to be busy! There are many that appreciate the info, and might catch a steelhead or two. The naysayers how did you first catch your steelhead how did you come to the knowledge on where to catch your first steelhead or salmon trust me you appreciate those that love you to those areas and taught you how to catch those fish now all the sudden it's a big secret that's ridiculous!

I think your a cool guy, but I hate that you are leading people to already busy spots when you yourself have a drift boat and don't need to battle the bank with the rest of us. Most fishing KZbinrs do their best not to share exact locations, but I tend to see more and more people just spilling the beans and making it public. This video is the exact reason why I don't go there anymore. God bless you. Have fun doing what you do, I just don't agree with your approach.

@jacttackle57 I think it's best we lead them to resources, help them with methods and techniques, lead them to the ODFW fishing report website, and encourage them to get help from someone they know that fishes. But to just go to popular high pressure areas and make a video telling them to come fish here is really a bad approach and will greatly upset the local fishing community. I personally know of several local people that are already upset about it because most youtubers do follow that unwritten rule. Like I said, you do what you want to get followers, but I believe it's pretty rude to make a video like this. Have fun and I hope you get lots of steelhead from your drift boat.

@ I make absolutely no money from u tube I’m not monetizing I never ask people to buy products and always promoted marketing your own tackle you should make sure your friends know that. I would be willing to bet you and your friends hunt and fish more than just the alsea area

Hey jack, don't worry about this sell out. I called him out on it and he took it personal, for being a churchy dude he definitely took it up the ass so I un followed that crying girl. I love your videos! You keep it real and you help those who have no clue what there doing. This guy over here telling you to make ppl look for resources. Dude I've been fishing for 10 years all on my own. It took me 10 years to know when and where they are. Keep up the work jack!

I typically avoid this park d/t the density of anglers but when the water is right, it looks super fishy.

Alsea river is already blown out with tons and tons of anglers .. makes a lot of sense why bigger KZbinr anglers are keeping their mouth shut an let alone a lot of guides are too because of this reason . I fished it just recently the parking lot is completely full and you walk all the way down to the private marker a let alone above aswell.. all full.😅 not a lot of guys like it when you have to fish 20 yards below them . Let alone you fish a spot catch a fish an post you will have 10 other guys in your spot aswell… I understand what you are trying to accomplish but it’s just hard for the people that live locally an have these type of videos making harder for us guys that been fishing it for years

@@garynash3660 there’s been 3.9 million people move to this state since 2000. Where should they go if they want to catch a steelhead. Like my father and my father’s father I was born in Oregon since you started fishing have you seen it get better or worse ? If you want to go fast go alone if you want to go far go together

@ all I’m saying is from my standpoint, it just makes things harder for small costal river system. Depending on this run. It’s hard to say. But if you like spreading the word about where to fish an how to catch them be my guest!! Just don’t get mad when one of these days you’ll have a lot of people in your “favorite spot” or river

@ 3.9 million people that moved to Oregon.. an in that time our runs each year have been degrading an our hatchery’s are decreasing.. when will it get better? But in the meantime more fishermen our spending tons of money to what? Fish a river that might have a 500 to 1000 fish return?
