Went out today, fished up to mike bauer. thinking I'll head further up tomorrow and keep fishing, just got one small one today. first time targeting sea run, I think I'm on the right track? all my gear/flies are pretty dialed, I'm sure its all about finding the fish. thanks!

Glad that helped, and thanks for the feedback! One thing to keep in mind as of today (8-29), the searun cutties seem to be coming in a bit later compared to years past. Not sure when in Sept. you’re planning, but the later the better, in my opinion. Last year’s run was late too, but by mid-Sept. it was excellent. Post back and let me know how it goes. ;-)

@@catlauncher yeah so we leave on the 8th of septmeber.. lol dang .. do you think its still worth fishing? alsea was for me a simple choice just because i have private access . but im more than willing to visit areas you may suggest. not looking for secret places just a good place for trout is all.. Thank you so much for the reply

@@sunsationalfan13 It’ll still be worth fishing. Plenty of resident cutties around, even if the SRCs aren’t in in big numbers yet. Those that are should be spread throughout the river, so you just gotta hunt for them. I never spend a lot of time in one spot. Bottom line: sounds like you’ll still be in a decent window to chase trout on the Alsea.
