No 'arguably' about it. Both could easily be lead singers or lead guitarists in any given really good band. As it turns out, they have chosen to team up and be exponentially more badass. This makes AB one beast of a band. Good for us!

MysticDarkSoul Might also have something to so with the positioning of the recording equipment. Possibly closer to Brian's and Myles' amps than Mark's.

Actually, yes it can be sometimes. I have been to dozens of gigs and I can tell you that which amps and monitors you are closer to impacts which instruments you hear more than others. It's why standing at the front of the crowd often results in a poorer sounding mix than being further back and hearing everything clearly. I've actually seen Myles ask his techs to re-position monitors mid-performance based on a conversation I had with him before the gig regarding it being difficult to hear his voice from the front of the crowd. Every gig that I have stood closer toward Mark's side of the stage, I can hear his guitar and not Myles' guitar ... and vice-versa. Just the same as how the closer to the stage I am the more dominant the bass is. I have spoken to dozens of other concert-goers who have corroborated this experience. Position impacts a lot of things. Seeing as this is just a festival recording and not DVD quality audio specifically tailored for the band, it would be fair to assume that the recording equipment isn't positioned optimally for each instrument. There would far more likely be a generic set-up, and in this particular case it hasn't benefitted the mix at all. I can almost assure you that while the mix the crowd were hearing on the day may not have been perfect, it would have been far superior to what we are hearing in this recording.

This bad mix is a testament to how amazing Myles is on guitar lol! I didn't realize Mark was so low until his solo in Come to Life... ahaha what great players all around. My god Myles sounds absolutely fantastic, this year especially. He's definitely more comfortable and less reserved with his beautiful voice. I remember reading about how he feels more comfortable with his place in his career/life right now. Feels settled and confident in the empire he's built up to this point and he can be "set for another 10 years" or so he somewhat said. Amazing band, can't wait to see them again soon!

De hecho si, nunca ha perdido la voz, llega a todos los tonos de las canciones y sigue cantando muy bien. Pero si comparas, por ejemplo, el concierto de amsterdam con los del 2015 o posteriores, te das cuenta que evidentemente perdió potencia vocal, sobre todo en las notas altas. Y en comparación a como estaba cantando en los ultimos años, en esta presentación queda en evidencia que aun le queda voz para rato :)

Leandro Veloso Concuerdo totalmente contigo. En estos últimos años se evidenció un "gasto" en su voz, especialmente en mos agudos, como bien ya explicaste. Pero teniendo en cuenta el calibre que tiene Myles como artista y sus años en la música, no creo que se venga para abajo totalmente. Tiene un rango vocal muy envidiable que muchos cantantes ni llegan a lograr. Espero que cuando estén de gira en Septiembre por Latinoamérica él tenga su voz mejor recuperada

Unless yer gonna master the live mix out of the main desk and match it to the video on a later occasion I'm guessing this what you get, as it's NOT an official release. Anyone out there know's that open air gigs are fraught with challenges at the best of times and without post production the mix is gonna be average at best for video. I'm sure the live sound, if you were there, was great.

I really couldn't tell you. I know nothing about audio re-encoding, or equalization for that matter. I was just using a 3rd party application I downloaded for windows to adjust equalization. Presets are all I used. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
