He plays with Slash as well, and Tremonti and Slash both say he is the best guitarist in both of their bands. Some great songs to checkout even if not reacting to them: Slip to the Void, Cry of Achilles, Open Your Eyes, Ties that Bind, Isolation, Addicted to Pain, In Loving Memory, Watch Over You, Metalingus, Show Me a Leader, Father than the Sun....I could go on and on! Lol. Fun fact...these guys used to be Creed. When that band imploded thanks to the singer, the band members enlisted Myles on vocals and as an additional guitarist and became Alter Bridge.

Yep, that's why he talks about "manning up" in the intro there and why they don't play it live. I would add I was there the first night with my son in one of the boxes. After they performed "Words..." we divulged to each other later that we both were so overwhelmed by the song and the swell of the crowd reaction, that we were moved to tears. The best concert of my life, and I've been to hundreds.

I think that having Myles and Mark is what makes Alter Bridge so special. They're both crazy good guitar players, I mean they're guitar Gods, AND they're both amazing singers, with very distinct range and style of singing. It's like the perfect combination. Plus they're awesome songwriters. And yes, this was the first time Mark sang in a song together with Myles and fans loved it so much that he sang two songs in following albums, Waters Rising (off of Fortress) and Forever Falling (off of Walk The Sky) Plus, this is a song where the two of them talk with each other about their religious beliefs (Myles being pretty much atheist and Mark being more religious) and I think it is one of their most powerful songs ever! Alex, love your channel and reactions!

Fun fact: Myles Kennedy is from Spokane, WA, where i live. In 2017, i went to see the band, they chose Spokane as the LAST CITY on their tour supporting The Last Hero. I’ve been telling your for months to listen to this recording. I’m glad you enjoyed it. If you listen in the intro, Myles says that they don’t play it live and joke about him trying to hit that high note...but he’s manning up. This song also really showcases how well Myles and Mark harmonize together and that note at the end is a note that only Myles can hit. You can even watch Mark look at him and give a little smile and nod after that note. Also, this song is a back and forth dialogue between Myles and Mark, about mark trying to convince Myles about his Christian faith.
