Hi Susan thank you for sharing such a wonderful knowledge. I do not know how to use metronome to practice my scales in your 12 week challege or playing the arpeggios can you please make a video showing how to use the metronome? Thanks

Hello Susan thank you for taking time to explain this valuable lesson , can you also make a video about how to do cross over smoothly i struggle while i am practising arpeggios .
@PianoRoadmap2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Are you talking about when your whole hand crosses over the other (left over right, for example), or the standard arpeggio fingering where the thumb crosses under and fingers cross over the thumb?

@@PianoRoadmap Hi Susan thank you for the reply! Standard arpeggio fingering where the thumb crosses under and cross over the thumb. Is there an easy and smoother way ?
@PianoRoadmap2 жыл бұрын
@@yaprakcetin5558 There's not a better way than standard arpeggio fingering. When you cross over/under, it's not just the fingers that are doing the work. You create a smooth cross by using your elbow and wrist, AND by pivoting on the finger that is playing right before the cross over/under. It's difficult to explain with text and I'm not sure when I'll be able to make a video on it, so I would find some other videos on arpeggios and carefully watch how the pianist moves their fingers/arms/elbows. Try to find multiple videos showing different angles (not just overhead), and even play it at half speed. Then imitate and experiment!

Do every pianist have their own comfortable hand position on the keys or should all pianists imitate one hand position only (generally asking)

We all follow the same general rules of hand shape (slightly curved fingers, playing on the finger pads, joints that aren't caved in), but then the small details change depending on our personal hands, fingers, and size.
