So CC's wish was not to die, but to truly love someone. I think I would have liked this ending, and not because it would imply a sequel, but because it shows that after everything is said and done, the world keeps moving forward, and that there isn't always a happy ending.

I believe that lelouch had the code, and he was the one driving the cart at the end, as some of you may know. Llouch had the code since his fathers death but the code doesnt activate before the person dies, like Lelouchs father who was able to activate his code when he killed himself after that lelouch used his geass on him to die. The same with C.C, the nun had to kill her to make the code activate and then the nun died. And when lelouch gained his fathers code, it didnt activate before he died, and after suzaku killed him, he activated his code, doing it able for nunnaly to see some of his past when he died. And then, his geass dont work anymore because he now have the code. So i believe now that C.C and Lelouch is now having an eternal life together. Happy end..

People, when you get the code you lose Geass but that's only if it was the person who gave that individual Geass, when Charles tried to strangle Lelouch, he accidentally passed on his code so this ending could be very well possible

Thats actually not true, the reason why he didnt lost the geass was because the code was dormant, in order to the code wroks, the person that has it must die once whit it, only after that the code will take his geass and make him immortal, this is further proved by looking at both C.C and Charles, in C.C case there is a episode that you can watch the moment the nun pass's her code to C.C then she killed C.C and killed herself. Same for Charles, the reason Lelouch geass worked on him the first time they met in C world was because Charles code wasnt active at the moment, only after Lelouch order and after he shooted himself, Charles gets up whit a new power, the power of immortality

Lelouch/Charles couldn't have activated Charles immortality because the only way that would work was if V.V. had killed him...So you receive immortality after using your Geass a certain amount of times.

Not so, V.V did indeed pass the code to Charles, there is a episode where C.C states that, when she saw V.V dying near the portal, plus there isnt any condition that states that the holder must be killed by the previous one. I think you are confusing whit the fact that the code can be passed by killing the current owner, to the activation there are only 3 conditions to get imortality: 1- Geass max power 2-Having the code 3-Dying

The thing is that Charles already had the code whit him, so in a way he is already immortal, cauze the next time he dies he will revive as a true immortal, but until that happens he can still use his Geass, so killing himself sooner would only means that he would lost his Geass sooner and he may still need the geass later. In a way, Charles as no need to rush cauze he already has all the important pieces to activate the code so his life is protected no matter what.

Actually lemme explain how the ending truly works. After Lelouch killed his father Lelouch took Charles's code and kept his geass until he died fulfilling the zero requiem. That is when he became immortal. In the original anime, when CC was on the carriage, when she said "Right, Lelouch?" It cut to the pilot of the carriage and it was Lelouch under the straw hat.

If the emperor's code that you are talking about is what makes them immortal, then I wish to say that lelouch never obtained the code. As far as I know, only two codes existed, one that the emperor had, and the other is C2. C2 obvious didnt give her's in the anime, and charle's disappear with him, when in dissipated in C's world. The proof is that lelouch still retained his geass, the emperor's code should have replaced it if he had gotten the code

Xuong Vuong If you watch the ending of code geass over you can see Lelouch transfer memories to Nunally through touch. After that she realizes that the death was Lelouch's plan after all. Remember how C2 could do such things by touching people? Only people who bear a code can do such things and Lelouch being able to transfer those memories to Lelouch confirms that he has a code. You also have the rules of the code wrong. When you attain a code while still alive and in possession of geass, that code doesn't activate until you die. Do you remember when the Emperor stole the code form V2? Lelouch used his geass on the Emperor and made his kill himself. After that the code activated and the Emperor became immortal. The same went for C2. If you remember correctly the nun also killed C2 to force the code onto her. The same went for Lelouch. After he was killed by Zero (Suzaku) his code activated and allowed him to transfer those memories to Nunally.

Your right, afew scenes at the final episode makes sense if you think of it that way, but still I cannot be sure since I have no concrete proof that explains about the code of immortality, so I am still thinking this is just a possibility. This would be a good ending if lelouch didn't already have code if you remember his father killed v v and got code on his hand then after lelouch received geass in both of his eyes they started to fade away... but before he died he grabbed lelouch 's throat with the hand and therefore lelouch killed his father and received code. I know your going to say you can't have code and geass at the same time... but lelouch could only lose his geoss and receive code by killing cc and because she still lives he still has geass and at the end cc is on the wagon and it appears she is talking to her self or the sky and there is a man with his face covered but when she says "Right Lelouch?" She slightly tilts her head backwards proving that Lelouch Lamprouge still lives.

And in the original version of the show they actually show Lelouch (well the bottom half of his face) giving a smirk and driving the wagon then go to the origami crane. So Lelouch is definitely alive and most likely received code from his father. For some reason that scene of him smirking was removed later on and in the dub or whatever.

R3 is coming out, but from what I've heard it's more of an alternate series than a continuation. It's set in the European warfront in 2017-18 a.t.b with a group of Japanese troops (or E.U troops) going behind enemy lines to rescue their comrades. Some characters bear resemblance to people from R1 and R2, but I don't know if it gets tied into the events in Japan. Still looking foreward to it though

When the emperor was immortal, he was still able to use the Geass (probably some special type of code) and when lelouch killed him he probably inherited the same ability.

I've been told that you only lose your geass if you obtain the code of the one who gave you the geass. Its believed Lelouch got his code from Charles, so he retained his geass.

But Lelouch was already imortal at that time because he had managed to get it by killing Charles after he had gotten the Code from V.V. and C.C. knew that so that's also why she didn't tried to stop the execution of Lelouch in the ending.

lol if you guys take a moment and think, lelouch rekt charless probably toke his code, planned the whole dying thing, etc. in fact at the very end of r2 episode 25 , he is the one driving the cart! so he is alive, and a season 3 is possible with alot of thinking, like europe vs britania etc.

+Athena Thai (KG3) that is the normal reaction, but since lelouch was original going to still be alive at the end of the second season, having got a code from Charles and the season was called 'Code Geass, Lelouch of the Rebellion R2' and CC's name in the Japanese is C2 it is assumed that the R2 is meant to refer to Lelouch

It makes so much sense I can't believe they didn't do something like this instead of leaving me to wonder what R2 means (Round 2? As in Lelouch's second attempt after losing the first season?) It would also stop people calling Renya and Akito "R3" (you know, because it wouldn't make sense anymore, not that it makes any sense now mind you, but for entirely different reasons).
