just a couple of alternatives to fiul w/o a laminator, 1. use double stick tape, the foil, even minc foil will stick to it, 2. use glue then run the piece through the die cut machine cutting plates w/o a die, you can use a glue pen and write with it as wwell

Eow what a great technique for foil! This is the first time I have ever seen it! So great an inexoensive! I always learn something from you... I thought I was the only one that cut around sentiments. I started doing it in the beginning because I didn't have many dies like ovals or circles or and I didn't always want it squared and glued on like an after thought!! Beautiful cards. This just goes to show you don't have to have every one of the new gadgets that come out on the market. I haven't tried this with my heat gun, but I have stamped an image with versa mark ink, lay the foil on top, put it in between a folded piece of copy paper with the plates and ran it through my die cut machine and this method works too. I'm going to give the heat gun trick a try. TFS

Dori, I linked some 6x6 sheets in the video description but it's multicolored. I love every one of those colors though. SO pretty! And a lot less bulky than the 12x12 pack I have. 2 other ways to foil w/o a laminator are 1. double sided tape, burnish the foil lightly on the tape then pull away, or 2.paint a stamp w/ wet glue or use a glue pad, place foil on top run through your die machine w.o dies, then remove foil (for both put foil pretty side down) these work w/deco foil or foils for use with the go press and foil. sorry, I lied, with the go press and foil foil usew/the pretty side up

It's not the same, but what I do is I stamp out my images/backgrounds with Versafine Onyx black ink, then scan it into the computer and use Photoshop to make the image even smoother and even more black, deeper black. Then I print it out on smooth cardstock and use my minc to foil... :) It works great ! :D

Oh my goodness you have to check it out. It's $10 for 36 years vs the 3M which is $37 a roll. Same thickness you just have to use scissors to cut it instead of tearing it. It is SOOO worth it. Thanks so much. I still want to foil, have some, but still aprehensive. Thinking of purchasing a laminating machine, but not understanding the process even with a laminator? As always, i love your designs. Seeing your cards really inspire me, and would most adhesive pads work as well as versamark brand?

I have to tell you, I NEVER foiled because I didn't have any of the specific products it was calling for so I had to challenge myself to figure out if I can use it with something easier. This is a great way! If by adhesive pad, you mean, sticky ink like Simon Says Stamp or another brand used for heat embossing, I would say it absolutely should work. If it works with embossing powder then it will work with this technique. Hope that helps! Thanks so much!
