We deal with a lot of overcrowding on hiking trails throughout Arizona, too. Thank you for sharing these alternatives! I've always wanted to visit Japan to hike Mt. Fuji specifically, but this video made me prefer the idea of visiting Kamikochi instead. Thank you for the recommendations!

Man! Mount Fuji is worst during the peak season haha. 🤣 You’ll know when you visit. But yeah! Kamikochi is a great alternative it’s a must-visit place.

i will be a fool as well this july. went to fuji on first week of july 2019, i thought i was smart to avoid crowds by going early. well, luck wasnt on my side and yoshida trail after the 8.5th station suffered rockslide/landslide(?). i delayed my hike till the middle of my trip, hoping maintenance would be done by then. i ascended till after the 8th station then went down Yoshida descent route. i will have my revenge on Yoshida trail top segment by going up Gotemba and descending Subashiri. i will also record 360 video/pictures of the ascent trail of Gotemba trail(limited pictures on google street view(descent trail has full navigation) if i have time, i will go to Hoeizan from Gotemba 6th station. taking a rest at warajikan/warazikan. this time i will attempt it after Marine Day

Hi! I will climb in July too! I have tried the Gotemba route but I haven’t tried the Hoeizan route. That’s actually quite interesting. I’ll try the Yoshida trail this time because I haven’t done it in the peak season.

@@JohnHikerDolar good luck. peak season means you join the crazy human queue up near the peak. maybe we might meet at the peak while circling the crater.

Hello. Now I live in Ibaraki. I have plan to hike Mt.Kitadake this year. I have few hiking experience like Mt.Mitake Mt.takao Mt.Nokogiri... I know these are 2 or 3 out of 5 level hiking. Please I need your advice and how can I prepare to hike Mt.Kitadake. I have no experience with camping equipments at all.

Well, kitadake is strenuous but I think you can make it. If you don’t have any experience camping and stuff you can reserve a hut (recommended). It’ll make your backpack lighter as well Camping in kata-no-koya is quite tricky coz of strong winds and unpredictable weather. The trail going to Kitadake is quite established as well. Just plan the course you’ll take and you’ll be okay. 👍
