Thanks this showed me enough to figure it out. Y’all should also replace the belt since your taking it off if you don’t understand how tensioners and serpentine belts work it’s a whole different video to watch because it’s also pretty deep use the principles from that video and apply them to this one.

TOOK MINE TO THE MECHANIC HE CHARGED ME $360 FOR THE ALTENATOR $390 FOR THE LABOUR AND $59 FOR A NEW BELT WHICH I NEVER CHANGED @ 211K NOW .. TAX AND ALL CLOSE TO $950 .. ITS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER NOW AND DONT WANT TO DO THAT ... AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING I HAVE A NEW 2023 CRV COMING .. WHAT LUCK...

Thanks for posting this. I just did this on a 2012 Chrysler 200. For those trying that, the alternator needs to come out from the bottom. Which means you'll have to unbolt the AC comp. to move it out of the way first. All in all the worst nightmare of a job I've ever had to do on anything. I wouldn't wish it on anybody. This vid makes it look easy. But it's not a good representation of every 2.4L application...evidently. None the less, it helped me tremendously. Especially trying to figure out what pulley is the tensioner, and how the belt goes back on. Such a fucked up design. Somebody needs to be shot.

Just had a problem last night got stuck in snow, and now after rocking the journey out of the snow the alternator will not charge the battery.. getting low voltage code.. how can I be sure it is the alternator before I go taking it off? Could the sensor on negative terminal prevent charging if it was bad?

You have to take off the air box housing and piping also must remove throttle body for the back and intake manifold for the front

Really bad tutorial honestly. You completely skipped removing the serpentine belt. I’m brand new at working on cars and I had no idea how to remove it. You hardly even mentioned it at all. Then when removing the plug on the alternator you use the word “screwdriver action”. What the hell is that supposed to mean? You did something different to remove the plug and you made no clear mention of what it was. The camera work was alright.
