PCB Design Reuse Using Snippets in Altium Designer | PCB Routing

Hi, Im having issues preserving the designator values of my components when I place my PCB snippet. For instance, if I have C1 on my board before the snippet is placed, the C1 in my snippet will change to C2 as soon as I place the snippet. Would you have an idea of how to get around that?

You have to make each of the designators in your PCB and Schematic snippet to be unique from any of your existing designators. Easiest is to reset annotations in the schematic you want to create the snippet from and reannotate starting from index of like 1000. this ensures that whatever designator is used by snippet won't be already taken by your main design. I know, altium is really dumb and the video never explains this. Hope they go out of business in the future
