Old video, but your videos have convinced me to order my first pair of Altra's. I've been wearing Brooks for years, but it seems like my feet are slowly hurting more and more. Hope these will help me out while standing and walking on concrete all day.

You're spot on with your comments regarding 'firmness' it has to be torsionally stiff which comes with design- its a lovely shoe. Ordered mine today as needed an upgrade from Provision 7

I just received the paradigm 7 today! I was desperately looking for a shoe with a wide toebox and the stability because I have a wide foot, so I ordered the paradigm 6 but damn was it narrow.. I was so mad because why would make a narrow stabitly shoe when most people that need stability have wide feet?? But well they really listened to the criticism and changed it so now the 7 definitely fits much better 👍🏼

I got the 7 also this week in wide and also tried the 6 last year and was too narrow. But i wonder: do you also feel its pretty firm? Oo i am abvoe 100kg and still it feels lil brickish. Do you think it will break in?

@@XDHarry94XD just bought some the other day, I tried my normal size but they were to dang narrow, ended up walking out with a half size bigger but was still really dissatisfied. So I bought the right size in wide and man such an improvement. The are a little stiff but they're definitely breaking in pretty quickly.

Have them since this week. They feel kinda fimr tbh, i tried p6 last year and they felt softer. What didnt change is the stability though, i ts stable as a rock

Does the cusion/softness feel better on the Paradigm 7 than the Olympus Via? I just tried on a via pair and didn't seem that soft or cushioned compared to the Torin 7 I tried on. I walk and at work on my feet a lot with knee issues.

I'm still on the hunt for a zero-drop stability shoe for everyday use myself but I have the issue of them being too plush. My feet feel great in something like a Birkenstock, not so much in running shoes. But any of those hard plastic orthotics are simply too hard unlike the cork I am used to. Basically, I need something that is firm with just a little give. Do you think these would be worth a shot? For a dedicated training shoe, I use Reebok nanos and while they are a bit narrow for me, I do like the firmness/stiffness they provide. Just as a comparison of what I am used to for firmness. Thanks for any input you may have.

Altra are brilliant but really annoying at the same time. Instead of product development: seeing what works and what needs improving, they just throw everything away and start again so you have no idea what you are going to get with new versions of their shoes.

Agreed. They clearly do NOT test their shoes or take feedback from their customers. It's kind of a joke. No other options really although Topo is getting there.

I broke both big toes when I was a kid, so feel uncomfortable with my feet being squashed into a v-shape like other running shoe brands and absolutely fell in love with the early ‘clown shoes’ Atlras (Torin 2 and Olympus 2) but since then the company have taken me on a wild journey where every year their industrial designer springs nasty surprises on you when you think you know what you ordered. I have actually really enjoyed my Paradigm 6s but am now terrified this completely mad company has added a ‘killer plastic slicing tongue’ or something like that on the 7. It’s great to find out that there is another company doing wide toeboxes.

How is the fit in wide? From your Altra fit video, you mentioned that Altra's in wides feel longer and your right. The Torin's and Peaks isn't 100% percent true to size, so I'm curious if the Paradigms actually fit well.

Quick question... ALTRA Paradigm 6/7 vs HOKA ONE ONE Gaviota 4??... for a taller, beefier guy... that *walks* about 3 miles... 4X - 5X a week.... on a treadmill... with pronation issues. Any help would be great... There are so many options it gets confusing.

I ran in the Hokas Gaviota and it was the worst running experience in my life . They felt clunky. Is this similar to the gaviota ? Is Torin also a stability shoe ?

So is the Wide version closer to the Original Fit with this one, or is it wider in the middle like past wide models? The Escalente 2.5 was a perfect fit at 10cm width, but I need more stability and cant compromise on the width.

Hi, i dont know wich stability shoe to get. Im very heavy and overpronate very much so that my ankles, shins and knee hurt. My feet are also wide. Asic gel kayano 29 in 2e was too narrow for me. I used insoles in the past for my flat feet. There are so many shoes out there and i dont have a store in my area where I can get advice or try some pairs. I played lots of basketball in the past and only wore basketball shoes for sports. I also go to the gym and do jump rope training. I hope to get some advice from you. Thanks

Im about to buy a new pair of running shoes and am stuck on weather I should get the torin 7s or paradigm 7's. I previously had the Torin 5 Luxe and had no issues with it. What would you recommend?

If you don’t need a stability shoe I don’t see why you’d go with one. Get the Torin 7.

I'm torn on this one. I LOVE my P6's. Arguably the shoe I put the most mileage on in the past year. I'm a neutral runner and didn't find the stability features to be a bother. Now that the Torin has the same stack and plushness (I bought the T7 from y'all and am LOVING them), I'm wondering if the P7 is needed (for me). The updates aren't pushing me away, I just don't know if I need it. I'm wondering more if I should switch to a Clifton 9 for an alternative shoe with a mild drop since I love the zero drop so much.

How do you compare the Altra Paradigm outsole rubber to that of AHAR plus?

I have the Torin6 and Provision7 and enjoy them both at first but now finding I like the feel and support of the provision and the Torin6 has more cushion it seems but I find myself leaning towards the provision for longer runs, and it feels more responsive. It sounds like the paradigm would bring more cushion to the solid connected feel of the provision, does that sound about right? Been thinking about getting some, but my torins still have a lot of life, might become walking shoes I guess.

I had both of those shoes and felt the same about them. The Torin 7 is cushier than the 6 and is a solid improvement.

The only specific stability trail shoe that we know of is the Hoka Stinson 7. However, that will most likely have too much stack height for you. If you want a cozy, supportive, low stack height trail shoe, we recommend checking out the Lone Peak. While it is categorized as a neutral shoe, we find the arch profile on the Lone Peak gives it great support.

I have not had anyone go from a Paradigm to a Torin as the straight last of the Paradigm just feels more solid and doesn't allow arches to fall over the side of the shoe. I miss the wider base of the older Torin's. I also find the upper not to be as plush as the version 6. I would say the Parading 7 is neither an improvement or worst, it's just slightly different.

I had a Paradigm 6 size 13 standard width and it was too narrow for my flat feet - with the little toe clearly pushing over the side of the sole - OK for walking only. I ordered the new Paradigm 7 size 12 in the extra wide fit - and it finally fits properly. However, in all other respects the 7 is a downgrade from the 6 - less padding, harder sole, cheap laces - overall poor quality considering the price. However, it does appear to be the only shoe on the market which actually fits my super wide feet!!

That's good to know. I have the same issue on the 6's they are hurting my small toe bc it's wider than the guide on the side. I can compromise with less cushion and cheaper laces as long as I can get a wider toe box

From the 5? Definitely. From the 6? It depends. If the tongue is bothering you or you think you'd benefit from a little better stack in the midsole, then also yes.

I deal with pronation and plantar fasciitis, and I just recently got the Paradigm 7 for work and I was wanting to get a cheaper style shoe for like a gym/casual walking shoe…what is another pair you would recommend?

If you like Altra and want a similar shoe that's more gym-oriented, we recommend checking out the Provision. It's like the younger sibling version of the Paradigm, where it has a lower stack height, has the support, and all the fun features of an Altra. The price of the Provision is $30 lower than the Paradigm.

Once again Altra messed up Yeah they ruined my favourite shoe. the new P7 is so hard I think they forgot to ad the Max as it feels like just a Ego midsole Its not max cushion anymore but if you like the Lone Peak you might like the P7 but if you want a cushion buy the Paradigm 6. ps Ive had 3 pairs of P6 and my new P7 is just killing me my feet gets so soar I have to stop running as my feet are just to soar. the only great upgrade to the P7 is that the tong is now staying in the middle but I can't wait for the show to be warn out as maybe then it will be nice but after 5 days and km100 I hate the new P7 . So be warned

The plushyness is bad, I don't want that at all, because it is not supportive. Hopefully this new one will be firmer, because I had to return the 6.

it's true Altra was always supposed to be the alt brand (oh was that a pun? ) but ultra leet in terms of just the merit of being alternative alone. because it's more innovative and thinking outside of the beaten road--in this case the deadbeat race oriented kol road that with all of the trippy schitzo branding hoka still heavily rely on. altra should take it as a negative example, not a positive one. hoka pays shills too much and honestly a normal person doesn't need to follow tiktokers or youtubers with million followers to garner an independent taste or take. (that sounds so wrong even as I describe it.) down to earth doesn't mean dirt cheap.

Altra-make a great shoe then change it for the worse for the next 5 iterations. Slowly get back to original great iteration, only to change it back for the worse and continue cycle.

when a salesman says a "smidge" firmer, the translation is Altra did an Altra and ruined the shoe. Again. Altra is one stead downhill tumble. Everything they do is getting worse and worse, half the customers already left for other brands. VFC will milk it some more than sell the husk to another holding co.

I agree with 90% of their shoes get worse. For this shoe it’s been fantastic to me. Much more durable than the 6. I have 500 miles and still going strong. Tread is much improved over the 6.
