A dead giveaway to charlo losing to Canelo is when Charlo said "I started putting on weight for the fight and I immediately felt slow. I'm trying balance my speed with the weight".. this is a good breakdown as usual. Top notch

One thing you didn’t mention. Both fighters are coming off injuries. The difference is Charlo is coming off a hand injury after a 16 month lay off. Canelo had a similar injury but he actually continued to take fights like Bivol and Ryder. Which shows you the level of durability Canelo has vs Charlo although many people would say Canelo is slipping in his performance, but is he really? Compared to a Charlo who is coming off a long lay off so inactivity will play a major role in this fight. We don’t know how Charlo will perform after a long lay off from a hand injury while moving up 2 weight classes. We already saw how Canelo performs while being hurt. Many people wrote him off because of it. So there are way more questions marks for Charlo than Canelo.

If only Charlo could follow Bivol’s blueprint.. but I think it would be very tough task for Charlo. Not skill wise but mostly mentally as Bivol seems more disciplined, focused and more pragmatic fighter. But the blueprint is there as you rightly noted 👍

It's not a crazy prediction, and the points you offer make it plausible. I think Canelo takes the lead in the earlier rounds and Charlo takes over in the later rounds, most will feel Charlo was taking over, however Canelo will get the nod.

Appreciated, that's a good take. I think Cardio sides with Charlo, but then again he's going up two weight classes, we'll see if it has an effect. although I think all his attributes will even out, jab will be stronger (if he focuses on core strength training) although he may be a bit slower. As long as the jab can hold Canelo back, he'll get through the early rounds

I disagree on the aspect that charlo has the momentum. In what aspect does he have momentum over Canelo? He’s been inactive for over a year, is coming off an injury, is moving up 2x weight classes and and his training camp just experienced a massive loss with derick James and Errol Spence. Canelo isn’t in peak shape anymore but this will be his 3rd fight in the last 12months at 168 and has worn off that injury that he suffered in 2022.

As a Canelo fan, i can see his decline clearly. I think it's casual fans who still envision him as that fighter with incredible head movement and timing. he's far more stationary these days, although there are too many variables unmeasured in this one, the main one being how does Charlo perform at a higher weight. I'm on the fence for now, but i'll keep an eye on their training closer to the fight.

This. As the weeks get closer to the fight, we'll see how Charlo fills out into the weight class. If both men come in top shape, I think Charlo will be a bit slower than usual movement wise, but his jab will be strong. PPfff i really don't know to be honest. Before watching this I had Canelo lol, but I see potential in Charlo

I watch both fighters this fight is not going the distance the first 3 to 4 rounds will be a cagey affair after that fireworks. I am not a canelo fan but his game plan will be to start quickly and get charlo out there by ko mid rounds 6 or 7. If the fight goes late i got Charlo tko his cardio is one of the best in the game i think he has the power to hurt canelo at 168.

He said Charlo showed gains in his last rematch, better footwork plus it was a KO over a man he had trouble with in their 1st fight. He also compared Bud as a successful transition to higher weight, and said his structure suits that weight class

I don’t think canelo is losing his drive. He lost to bivol which was an attempt to be great and had to fight ggg per contract and Ryder per mandatory defense, two aging fighters who everyone knew he was going to beat, obviously not fights he’s going to train exceptionally hard for.

The question should ask yourself how would charlo handle canelos power. Charlo has yet to fight a power puncher. You make good points on charlo but things change one's they get hit. Charlo is no defensive mastermind. Bivol and Mayweather have the best defense.

I agree, I offered two perspectives on how each man wins, however I'm leaning on Canelo not being what he once was. Consider that Charlo has the blueprint to follow, that's why i stated the importance of composure, because he has moments where he can be defensively sound. When Charlo gets hit, he tends to bite by smiling.. which can throw him off his own game, against Canelo, he can't afford distractions.

The first castano fight is a good example he gets hit more than what a bivol or mqywether. Canelos been fighting much bigger guys while jermell been fighting smaller guys. I do want to add the canelos left hand during the bivol fight was giving him problems and you can see when he try to use it but couldn't.

Canelo's hand surgery might be a success, or perhaps it's not. With that I think Canelo wins if his Cardio is top notch, and Charlo wins if he can remain composed and follow a similar plan to Bivol "Similar".
