That line hits me right in the kokoro "If the world gives you million reasons to back out then you should have a million reasons not to give up" I felt it because right now I felt like the burdens on the back of my mind kept pushing me down. That line is a good reminder for me not to give up easily!

Owens and his coach worked very hard to have him in peak condition for the Olympics. Marquette University's Ralph Metcalfe was usually the faster runner and was also black. Ralph got 2nd there at the 100m and was on the 4x100m relay team too.

I love all the races....but I think Morgan Freeman said it best in an interview.... When asked "How do we end racism?" He responded "Stop talking about it!!...." And I believe he is right!! He also said and I am now paraphrasing..."I'm gonna stop referring to you as a white man and I'm gonna ask you to stop referring to me as a black man".... I absolutely agree with him!!!! Why can't we just all be men and women.... Or heck I think even every one of us has names... lol Why can't we refer to each other by our names?? The whole color thing to me doesn't make much sense it's really all about the environment you are raised in and a little bit genetic....but we are all still human and people and that should be enough common denominator for us to love each other and come together!!!!
