With all due respect, sir, and I do mean with much respect, why don't you use alignment pins to install parts like that rear diff? Make them from bolts with the heads cut off. Make an assortment and keep them in a container on your service truck. I've been a viewer of your videos for years and it pains me to see you struggle physically when there is a much easier way. You are a super intelligent and talented mechanic. My lead mechanic taught me that method 40+ years ago. It works, it's easy and it's simple.

Warren, you have to be the most talented, versatile, hardest working mechanic i have ever seen in my life and I've been around a lot of them. Love your videos. Your rant on crazy things the ladys can get into was hilarious. I love my wife she is the best but some things her and her friends come up with doesn't make sense no matter how you figure it.

Dont let other people dictate when you get something done. Your human, theres alot of people to please and repair for. You do your own thing on your schedule, they will survive. Its not worth it to be stressed all the time, you habe plenty of work to stay busy, its ok to tell people your too swamped right now, sorry. Ive learned this a long time ago, but took awhile to actually stick to it. Im only human and theres only 1 of me. And i always tell em i will get to it as quickly as i can, but i don't promise anything on any date. Theres too mny variables that can alter the time frame, then if its something out of my control, like machine shop taking too long, backordered parts etc etc, it makes me look bad instead of being honest upfront.

Wow Warren, you're stuck in it now! To have a heavy driveline repair with all that backlog work you have, ugh. You will be busy for awhile. One thing I learned isthat potatoes are HEAVY! Add to that rolling over uneven and unpaved land, and you are just asking for driveline failure. They should be using the power divider MOST of the time TBH. Sounds like they didn't and were rolling over that ground with just standard traction on the twin screw. Mind you,(I'm sure you know this but your viewers don't), that twin screw traction w/o the power divider engaged is driving the front right and left rear on the tandem. Engaging the power divider distributes traction equally to all 4 drivers on the tandem. Kind like 4WD for big trucks. No wonder those differentials are all worn out. Get some good rest buddy, you gonna be plenty busy. BE SAFE!

I have seen a lot of power divider problems on those diffs. Wonder if the drivers are not letting the driveline stop before shifting it. I had a dump truck that ripped the whole power divider off the front rear, it makes a huge shock to the drive line, like if the truck is stuck, and trying to rock it to get out. that carrier should not have broke like that

he has peeled the spline out of the helical drive gearon the input shaft on the qd 100, or he has peeled the splines out of the p/d cross. Or the splines on the pinion drive grear. anything else would have left a bunch of debris in the banjo. When the rear diff went out they probably had that pig loaded with potatoes and all that torque went to the middle pass thru diff. It wasnt designed for that loading without having the double diff working to split the torque, Any thoughts?

I blew the Carrier in half on a ds402 Eaton one time. Brakes were froze I didn’t feel like crawling around in the snow to beat them off so I just tried rocking it some. Eased off the clutch a little to much and pop thought I broke an axle nope blew the carrier and ring gear in half. So my reward for not crawling around in the snow was getting to crawl around in the axle grease fixing the stupid thing

Appreciate the videos, Warren. Did the differential for the front axle explode, the spider gears. The ring and pinion looked intact, from what could be seen of the ring gear. I wonder if that had anything to do with the rear axle failure. Those trucks are run through the field and live a pretty tough life, depending on the operator. Thanks Again for dragging us along on your adventures. It makes me want a service truck like yours every video.

Warren is the classic example example of how a hard working man is no better off than a moderately working man... maybe his ole lady gets to a home maker? But if he’s gonna put in 60-70hr weeks/51 weeks a year probably he should be long retired. I have a friend who works a desk job in the state government and they will be retired at 47 because of the pension program they have in place.
