As I'm preparing for this year's North American, I find it's really valuable to review some of your older videos (being a d4 player too).

that Nb1 begins to look more intuitive the more I stare at it. Well played, even if you didn't play Nb1.

Thanks for the game recap! Nb1 is definitely an idea to take and store in the mind in these Bogo-structures. Good luck in round 3! Keep the rock'n'roll beating in your favor! :) And thanks for not spoiling the game result beforehand :)

12:56 This is a beautiful line with that Ne5-g4 move. Props to finding it! In this position I don't think black can go 1...Re8 because of simple 2. Rxe8+, Bxe8 3. Qf6 and he can resign. He can go 1...Qf4 and then we need to find something, which I could not find while watching the video. Your choice in the game was more practical and maybe better, but still well done for spotting such an idea ( Ne5-g4). I am impressed

Excellent analysis as usual. This tournament you have a another chance not to play passively against higher rated players. Good luck!

Thanks! I remember you mentioned this before -- not sure if I agree with your assessment though. There are lots of games where I play too loosely as well

I am not sure what night does on c3 , but I think nf1 to b3 and h4 , h5 looks better for white, and I think I would play that..

I am switching from long time 1. e4 player to 1. d4. If I see in database my opponent plays exclusively pirc, French or Caro I still plan to play 1. e4 because I had such a good experience vs these openings. I also figure it might annoy guys prepping for me to see I play both 1. e4 and 1. d4 if they don’t realize I only play 1. e4 vs predictable opponents. It will be nice side effect to hit guys with 2. e4 if they try to move order me into a preferred 1. d4 position with 1. d4 e6 or 1. d4 d6
