I can't handle even mild spicy stuff. You were brave for trying the hottest ones! Thank you for trying the vegetarian one. As a vegetarian for over 30 years, it was a nice treat to see a KZbin video that purchased one of those too 😊

Spice tolerance can change over time. When I was growing up in Thailand, I thought I ate mild version of everything. The western food later got me to miss the spices and started eating more spicy level (or so I thought). When I got back to visit Thailand almost a decade later, however, the locals gave me the medium spicy level (as I still remembered most Thai language when I ordered). My lips burned and chapped so bad for days. 😆 Never underestimate Thai-level hot!

Haha Thai level spice is mad! 😅 hoping I can build up my tolerance by eating som tam everyday 😂💖

Wife and I went to an authentic Thai restaurant once in LA and the waiter was practically begging me not to order "authentic hot". It got to the point we figured they were trying to avoid a lawsuit or something lol. My wife finally had to explain I was used to eating authentic Indian and Thai food because of where I grew up. He finally gave in, served me the dish and it was delicious. He kept checking up on me though anyway which I thought was nice

Hahaha I don’t blame them for worrying, good thing you could handle it, unlike me 😂

I love hot spicy foods, but my gut not so much anymore. I could feel your pain...lol. great content. That restaurant looks like fun. Can't wait till the next video! 😂

I enjoy spice but not on that scale 😂😂 haha thank you!!! 💖

I hope you recovered quickly Emma! I would definitely stick with spice level 1, or maybe 2 if I was feeling brave. I appreciate you trying the vegetarian version, as a vegetarian it's nice to see those kind of options. Alaska has a large Thai immigrant population, so we have a lot of good Thai restaurants, though I'm sure having it in Thailand is so much better!
@AlwaysAway16 сағат бұрын
15 minutes later I’d mostly recovered luckily 😂 yeah nothing higher than 2 for me! And ahh that’s awesome, you should give pad kra pao a try! 😃💖

During my backpacking days I used to wind the locals up by ordering “Thai spicy” as opposed to “farang spicy” and then complain it wasn’t spicy enough - the look on their faces was hilarious! I love spicy food but since I gave up smoking about 20 years ago my taste buds recovered and I can’t handle the same level of spice as before. A tip for you - the spice comes from the fact that chillis are highly alkaline - if you over do it, drink milk or a yoghurt drink and the lactic acid will neutralize the alkalinity - will cool your mouth far better than water. The hottest food I have ever eaten is “Sichuan hotpot” in China - my mouth actually went completely numb! Great video - I had a good chuckle at your reddening faces!♥👍

Haha I bet they loved that!! I wish I could try that on the locals but I fear I’d die from the heat 😂 will have to have milk at the ready next time. Oh wow! I didn’t realise Chinese food was so hot!

Always love a good Mukbang video, have to say you guys are a lot more adventurous than we are. There's not much of a palate for spice with us. If you guys are ever in Ireland we can show you a few good Irish dishes though! ☘️

Haha when I first came here ten years ago I was too scared to try anything because I was quite picky, but in the last three years I’ve tried everything and I love it! Just can’t do the full on chilli’s like the locals have 😭 That’d be great!!

The vegetarian one looks yummy, I’m not big on spice, but I got curious and look at some Thai restaurants here in Orlando to see if they had it on the menu. They want $18 for that dish!!!! American prices are outrageous. But I’m hoping to get to Thailand soon and try there.
@AlwaysAway16 сағат бұрын
It was brilliant with the tofu! Yeah it’s the same in the UK, so expensive!! And it rarely tastes the same because it’s harder to come by the holy basil which is the main ingredient 😅💖

I'd go for the spicy dishes, have always liked hotter food. At my first job back in the 80's (a record store), the staff would sometimes, after work, have dinner at a Thai restaurant a couple of blocks away. Thai food was just starting to become more common here, so at the time it was considered a bit exotic. The menu items gave the spice levels from 1 to 5 stars, with 1 being mild bordering on bland and 5 being what we jokingly called "small craft warnings". You can guess which level we went for. Lots of water was consumed, along with Thai coffee and tea. Ever since then, I've liked spicy Thai dishes of any sort, so if I was over there and I saw one of those shops, I'd pop in without a second thought. We'll done.

Haha love it - definitely need some chilli in there! But I can’t handle more than 2 chillies haha. I’ve been trying to build up my tolerance with som tam 😅 Thai food is great!

Bit late to the video, but Duck eggs are usually creamier because the yolks are bigger. 12mins onwards is hilarious! Emma just getting up and leaving was peak comedy! Hope you two are better now hahah Pro tip : water sort of does nothing much to tame spice, cola makes it worse. always use cold milk! It helps to prep with a bit of cold milk or a smoothie before hand to help guard your insides a bit!
@AlwaysAway6 сағат бұрын
The duck eggs were great! And hahaha I couldn’t cope, all good now 😂 a smoothie would’ve been perfect, stupidly didn’t think ahead 😅😅

Yeah... Mark Wiens eats a ridiculous amount of spice I don't understand how he taste food properly 😂 Funnily enough though I made myself Pad Krapow yesterday because I wanted to clear my nose I put in about 8 chillis but I wish I added more because my nose still feels stuffy 😅 also 7eleven have an amazing vegan pad krapow, it's so good that I even my family buy it instead of the meat ones now 😊
@AlwaysAway6 сағат бұрын
How on earth to does he manage?! 😂 8 chillies! You’re as bad as Mark hahaha and oooh that sounds good, we’re definitely giving that a try!
@firemage1990Күн бұрын
I cannot take any spice at all. it literally kills my stomach and digestive system. Even the chili flakes would do me in!!! I'd have to eat regular spaghetti with normal spaghetti sauce for me!
@AlwaysAway16 сағат бұрын
Hahaha that was definitely me when I first came here, I can’t do Thai spice but I can do their foreigner spice 😅💖
