Bobby really blew that leg. The D9 was poor but he should’ve hit T10 instead of T16 his last dart so he wouldn’t hit a S9 and not have a second chance at a double
@DanTheStripe2 жыл бұрын
Remember, this was just four years after he picked up a dart for the first time! He admits himself his counting wasn't great. Bobby in 92 wouldn't have gone T16, it was an unfortunate consequence of his speedy rise to the top that led him to miscount and lose the game.

Bristow was averaging just under 100 in the mid 80’s. It was only when players like Phil Taylor and Dennis Priestley came along and started averaging over 100. Also from 93 onwards where John Lowe’s average was in the 80’s and for a number of years the BDO world championship were won with averages well below Bristow in his heyday so I am far from convinced by that statement.

Loved to watch darts back then but this was a 20 dart leg which is really poor form for a number 1 player like Bristow. My favourite players back then were Jocky on the Hockey Wilson and John Low. A few years after this match Phil Taylor the GOAT was dominating the game. As much as I loved the players from my childhood in the 80s & 90s none of them would of stood a chance against Taylor.
