We are trans and autistic, and also a system, this was highly relatable, so many professionals just aren’t capable enough to diagnose autistic systems like ours, another thing is we have noticed a lot of trans and autistic systems, a larger proportion of systems being trans and/or autistic, so if anything I feel like that would support an autism diagnosis in your case. Welcome to the club. I get the not relating to it from it, due to only knowing those very annoying heavily autistic boys. I was diagnosed in childhood, but only because my parents knew a lot about it. The school wouldn't do anything, if you are affecting yourself negatively they don't care only when being a disturbance. I didn't relate to it so much I got meltdowns from the word alone. Of course never fitting in. Which also isn't good for mental health. Autistic people are more likely to be lgbtq. Usually talked about in regards homosexuality (or maybe that's just me being in way too many lesbian and bisexual social media groups. Probably just that) But definetly trans people. But it was probably more difficult because they can't get the feeling of not fitting in, because well trans. You never felt like one of the girls, because you simply aren't. They can't look at the depression, which is way way more common in autistic people because well, gender dysphoria can also cause that shit. Plus so many of the autism symptoms van be random mental health shit it is annoying. So so many afab children get wrongly diagnosed with eating disorders or anxiety or whatever, because those are more "feminine disorders" As if we don't have it. It's annoying for adults how everything is about how you were as a child. And not any of your current struggles. Due to my diagnosis I literally had to go into a psychiatrist to see if I would be fit to drive. And well all the questions were about childhood (and also if I am not depressed or drinking. Whatever. Just a boatload of bullshit) I have my license now but it was a hassle.

Interesting. I was diagnosed with autism (and ADHD) 2 years ago. For me the psychiatrist said that my dissociative symptoms are caused by my autism, which I have never heard of even being possible. Like I have never heard having alters could be a part of autism. So I'm very skeptical about it.

I'm sorry you didn't get a dx. If you feel you are autistic, that's valid.
