Remember, brothers and sisters, all who are in Christ are called to ministry, which is service, in their life to God. This is service in regards to spreading His word. Let all men hear the Gospel, so that by hearing the Word of God they may gain faith unto salvation. We are not all called to vocational ministry, but do not let this discourage you in fulfilling the great commission because it is for His glory, and to God be all the glory, forever and ever.

@LC-jq7vn2 жыл бұрын
@@Benjamin-un1wl The thief on the cross wasn’t, many men died on the battle field and were saved at the very end, went to heaven last moment, I believe. But it’s a bad sign if you don’t want to be baptized, probably accompanies more signs that you aren’t saved, of course given you have a large life span left. Most solemn hearts can’t wait to be baptized.

@@LC-jq7vn “And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38). Acts 2:38 proves that people have to be baptized with water to be saved. The Penitent Thief was saved under the old covenant. Therefore he did not have to be baptized with water to be saved.
@LC-jq7vn2 жыл бұрын
@@Benjamin-un1wl He was NOT saved under the old covenant. He was saved by having faith in Christ, lol. Silly argument. What is baptism? It’s an OUTWARD pledge of an INWARD love and Inward faith. Don’t try to limit God to outward ceremonies. It is our contention that baptism is an important step of obedience for a Christian, but we adamantly reject baptism as being required for salvation. We strongly believe that each and every Christian should be water baptized by immersion. Baptism illustrates a believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Romans 6:3-4 declares, “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” The action of being immersed in the water illustrates dying and being buried with Christ. The action of coming out of the water pictures Christ’s resurrection. Requiring anything in addition to faith in Jesus Christ for salvation is a works-based salvation. To add anything to the gospel is to say that Jesus’ death on the cross was not sufficient to purchase our salvation. To say that baptism is necessary for salvation is to say we must add our own good works and obedience to Christ’s death in order to make it sufficient for salvation. Jesus’ death alone paid for our sins. That is the equivalent of Jews saying that we need circumcision to be saved.

The entire problem i have with these "tests" is that a lot of ppl who falsely teach in God's name sincerely believe they were called by God to be a minister, even when their theology is easily disprovable with the Bible. Sincerely preaching false doctrines will not magically make false beliefs true or make the person preaching them a genuine minister of God.

The way guestion is asked and the way answer is put on this context is confusing and shows the harmful understanding that ministry is only for some. The guestion is not if we are, because all who are in Christ are called! Ministry is not not a full time working kind of thing for pastors, teachers and missionaries. Look at ephesians 4 "Ministry is our service, that we are all called to live. So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to EGUIP his people for works of service (ministry) , so that the body of Christ may be built up until WE All reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature,attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. The role of pastors, teachers, etc is to equipp the others to serve God! That is with our lives, our words, our worship. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12. I am writing this from a country with more then 95% population from UPG. And where the church received and receiving this teaching of " full ministry" from foreign missionaries and its so destructive for the church and God's expansion Kingdom. Reaching the UPG here is the all believers task not an "only full time minister" task. Believers belive that pastors and minsionaries are to take the Gospel to people (they are seen like some gurus) and they believe that have no responsibility them just "living a normal ritual kinds of Christian lives) This teaching is confusing and not equipping the church for what is called and from this so many problems (believers thinking that they have nothing to do for God's kingdom, over worked pastors, people not hearing the Gospel (because ia just minsionaries task,) confused believers who don't know what are they called to, etc. To say the least... It's sad, extremely sad... I hear all the time believers saying : i am not called for ministry, so they just go for earning money.... And pastors saying, I am called to ministry and not work for their living...and millions of people remain without the Gospel, because "the only so called ministers pastors and missionaries and teachers can't go to all the people"

@Stephen Strager As far as I am aware John Pipers vocational work is as the pastor of a local church. As a pastor, the local church paying him for the work of the ministry is entirely in line with Biblical precedent. From the levitical priests, to the apostles, to our local church servants of God. 1 Timothy 5:17,18.

Being baptised in front of witnesses in a church does not make you a Christ filled believer but does show your commitment to obedience in Christ and can lead to total and true rebirth if you have not yet been saved. The Greek word that "preached" is translated from (kerusso) should actually be translated as "proclaimed". Proclamation isn't something that only preachers/pastors/teachers can do. All believers are called to witness/to share the gospel/to be carriers of the "euangelion", as the Holy Spirit guides. (Acts 1:8).
