The nerve of that woman saying "this country is a piece of shit and isn't worth saving" while sipping champagne at a dinner party in a huge house and being waited on. The complete lack of self awareness and grattitude for the privileged life she's leading is astounding.

That's what exposes the con. She knows she doesn't mean a bloody word because it means destruction of her way of life. Reminds me of the English upper class 'communists' toddling off to weekly meetings in the pre WW2 days proud they mixed with plebs for that hour or two. Saying things like 'when we take over we'll hang policemen from lamposts'. WHEN WE TAKE OVER? They were at the top of the tree! At least we know those types are too lazy to ever get off their arse to practise what they preach with each generation producing a few.

A lot of your job is going to be just communication and depending on the situation, mood, morale you will have to tune up your conversations. And there will always be fights, there will always be disagreements, your main goal should always be "Does it serve the project". And then move from there. And lastly, and this is something I'm trying to figure out myself, how to deal with people who either stop working or just leave. Cuz the threat of firing them isn't always gonna be an option. Eric Holder famously said "That law wasn't meant for you people." It all comes back to the mantra in politics "It's OK when we do it". For the most part the courts agree with him. Cases over discrimination against whites never seem to go anywhere. I always thought the line in The Way It Is was referencing Medicaid and the expansion of welfare. The expansion of welfare did more to damage black families than Jim Crow. Blacks were less likely to grow up in a single parent family before the government expanded welfare.

Here’s another good example. There was this grifter on a podcast one time that claimed an issue (that he just made a movie about) was affecting “millions” of kids in the US. He also claimed that he was an “expert” on the topic and it was the thing he was “most passionate about”. This made it all the more hilarious when the podcaster pulled up a peer reviewed study that showed this issue only actually affected less than 5,000 kids over a 5 year period. I think this perfectly illustrates how little these grifters actually care about the issues they champion. They only care about fear mongering to their audience so they can easily grift to them. He inflated the problem in his own head so much that he estimated it affected 400X more kids than it actually did and this so called expert didn’t care enough to research how many kids that it actually affected. Oh by the way that so called expert’s name was Matt Walsh and the Podcaster who fact checked him was Joe Rogan. Matt is no better than the people he is rightly calling out in this film. He just does it from the far right instead of the far left.

But what is DEI? Is it a program? A company? An ideology? I ask because unfortunately I have seen some people saying “I am against DEI” as shorthand for “I’m racist/I am against non whites working”

I've only met one white dude that i was nearly certain was racist. the guy's coworker was a black guy. and as me and the racist rode away in the golfcart he said "if they were all like him the world would be a better place." i guess it was a compliment to his coworker, but the way he said such a comment to me without knowing me at all sat really weird with me. it's like he assumed i would agree.

@toodlepop I wouldn’t be so quick to call the guy racist over that. He clearly likes at least one black person. It sounds more like he’s judging by the content of character rather than the color of the skin. You know, like MLK said to do.

To be fair, Sacha Baron Cohen DID try this with Trump supporters. They backed him into a corner when they figured who he was, and he ran away, jumped in an ambulance and fled. It's funny no one remembers this.

@@fiscer247 He's doing his best. At least, by the end of the year, he promised to remove taxes for each dollar we buy, which this was implemented by the last government. To paint you a picture, in the last part of the left being the government, you had to pay a 155% tax over each dollar you bought. So, if you wanted to buy one dollar, you would had to pay $2.55 dollars. So, yeah, now that is a good sign...

@@ZephaniahL i've always been skeptical about this, because at this point i think it's going to become more difficult to find accurate information about slavery in america. but it doesn't really matter, i don't think. because it WAS documented that there were black slave owners in the US, and of course that black people were selling their own kind into slavery. sooo...it doesn't really matter to me what color the first slave owner in the US was, if i'm being honest. no offense.
@DanielRyanScott
@DanielRyanScott 3 ай бұрын
@@ZephaniahL His name was Anthony Johnson. Id read the whole story because its full of technicalities. But he was an Indentured servant, which was distinct from a slave as they could work off their debt and be free again. That's what he did and he was given land and eventually had his own indentured servants, 4 white but one Black. Johnson went to court believing his black slave ended his service early without repaying his debt, and the courts agreed with Johnson after an appeals. Their verdict was life long enslavement, thus becoming the first legal slave written into law by legislature. Before that, there were cases of indentured slaves that were given time extensions to their debts that went pass life expectancy or a money amount so high they could never pay it off, thus indentured for life. But it was Johnsons court victory that brought legalized slavery, without the chance to free oneself with money or a time frame, into law.
